Amateur Night
I like that all the major players in the camp don't attend the amateur night. Bullock is at the office, Cy is menacing Joanie and Jane, Hearst is at the hotel with Jarry, Alma is performing magic tricks for Sofia, and Al is singing The Unfortunate Rake.

I think the Gustave/Al scene showed how desperate Al was to find another solution to the Hearst problem. Gustave tells him that he has something important to tell Al and Al welcomes any suggestions even from the crazy tailor.

I was never sure if Jack was gay or not either. Especially when those two other women were introduced late in the season. With Claudia, I knew she had a crush on him but he always seemed to keep it professional. Though in Milch's commentary on the finale he mentions that they are related but never goes into further

I thought that guy was his assistant. They showed him helping Merrick with the press during the Plague episode.

He deserved to be exiled if he raped the God pigeons that saved David.

The end
Silas didn't declare David king. He says "I am the king". I thought for a second that he would say that David was king but he didn't.

Milch interview
I posted this in the last thread late so I thought I would repost a New Yorker profile of David Milch that came out during the 2nd season. There are some spoilers for the next few episodes but I really recommend it. Milch is fascinating. He was even a frat brother of George W. Bush

Welcome to fuckin Deadwood
Al declaring his love and loyalty to Dan is one of my favorites. Especially when Dan goes to hug Al but Al turns so he won't. It is such a sweet scene between two murderers.

I thought he didn't want to get "et by the pigs" after Cy found out about how Joanie got the money to open her own place

"Never sneak up on a man who's been in a chemical fire"

No, but he just seemed to lighten up a bit in later episodes and began to realize that he couldn't control every aspect of camp

Al
I love that in these 3 episodes we get to see different dimensions of Al's character. He just seemed so evil in the firt 3. I think it begins in epsiode 4 when EB tells him he's becoming paranoid because afterward his sense of humor is more prevalent and his larger view of the world and long term thinking is shown

There were still alot of great moments in season 3.

I love Ellsworth
Ellsworth had the best lines in the pilot.
