Linus and Lucy's little brother.
Linus and Lucy's little brother.
Bombadil has a purpose in the story, but he isn't necessary in the simplified world of the films. Hardly anyone would argue with this.
All four of the primary hobbits (in other words the four main characters) are - outside of three of them coming from wealthier hobbit families, which is barely mentioned in the text - depicted as ordinary and don't fit the above description at all.
The part where the assistant rips off his own face is scary IMO.
But that didn't happen either, sorry to say. I implanted your memories of implanting Holden Martinson's memories.
I don't care for that one either, and I can't fathom why so many people like it. "My love don't give me presents, I know that she's no peasant." Really Paul? I know you can do better than that.
My least favorite Beatle song (if you want to call it that) is probably "What's the New Mary Jane". What a pile of rubbish.…
A very common misinterpretation of this song. "Nowhere Man" isn't political at all, which is why it would seem so empty judged by that measure. It's about Lennon's feelings of inadequacy - a somewhat more detached sequel to "I'm a Loser".
The book says where Gandalf went and what he was doing, but Tolkien provided scant detail on the exact particulars as it has little or nothing to do with Bilbo's story in "The Hobbit". Unfortunately, Jackson went ahead and ignored this.
