Sarah was known in these forums as the Picnic Ham with Eyes. She was sooooo annoying. In retrospect that was a pretty bad season, but will say the episode where they cooked for Charlize Theron was one of the best I've seen out of any season.

She left much earlier and it's surprising that Mei was around her enough to get a comfort level. What I'm really wondering about is how much she had to do with the amazing dessert? It was Mei's concept and Rebecca did mention being unfamiliar with one of the nitrogen techniques.

I thought she deserved to win and being the 3rd woman is certainly worth celebrating. I went back and tried to find any mention about Mei potentially being only the 3rd woman to win. It was brought up a few times in previous episodes, but not in the finale.

"Just kidding, it's Josie.."

Paul Qui obliterated the competition in TC Texas, but was completely boring. I'd watch him over and over again. Greg was cheery and had a great storyline. Not too boring at all

As soon as the they showed the debate with Padma favoring Doug and Tom favoring Mei, I knew Mei would go forward..

I have a tough time with ravioli as fine dining. But the judges always have a hard-on for good broth.

They need their own show. The best exchange of the night and whole season -

Not sure if it was editing or not, but Nicholas was pretty much the anti-Christ last year.

At least I wasn't the only one who couldn't stand Melissa's buttoned-up grey denim
shirt. Poor Doug - he wins LCK and all of them are whisked away ASAP. They didn't even give him time to put on another shirt. He had to walk around town in a sweat-soaked undershirt… http://wp.me/p1ByJK-1Dh

They didn't describe Dougie's dish as much as the others, only that it caused him to dig deep into his personal experience. So we didn't get a sense of how good it really was. Shame. Editing chicanery.

Since he couldn't be eliminated and there's no way he would've won outright, I would've loved to have seen George tell his dad to make whatever he wanted. He's a Greek immigrant who owned a restaurant. Sure it's a diner but I'm Thinkin he could've come up with something more interesting than a grilled oyster.

George's two dishes tonight, as well as his two from last week, were not inspiring at all. Lamb kebabs? Sausage and eggs?

Yet they missed an obvious dick joke with Gronkowski that Bravo's core demographic would understand - "They're putting a big sausage in a tight end."

It's a reference to a Key & Peele skit. Someone else started it on the Top Chef comments weeks ago. here it is http://youtu.be/Dd7FixvoKBw

Melissa's salad and shrimp - even with the KNIFE CUTS - was definitely not TC-worthy. I also thought that George's kebab wasn't either - I could easily find that at a dozen restaurants right now. Same with Mei's lamb chops.

I call bullshit on whole jackfruit at Whole Foods. I've NEVER seen those there. Then again, I'm in the Midwest.

The eliminated chefs didn't give a crap about who might win. It was a nice move to bring back George, because he got booted for a silly prep skills relay. And when he got to challenge someone to get back in, he chose Gregory - the LAST person to go head to head with.

Ty-lor (Texas) was booted in restaurant wars. Ed was FOH and expediting - I don't think they had an Exec chef.

I looked through my old reviews… Sheldon (Seattle) won a Toyota Avalon and Beverly (Texas) got a 3 liter bottle of Terlato, a vacation, and a winery tour. No idea what Nicholas got last year.
