They can't refer to them as mutants because of that, which you already touched on why so that's Baron von Strucker (found his name on the movie's Wikipedia page and it this EW article http://popwatch.ew.com/2014… ) refers to them as "miracles" and not mutants. I'm not sure how they're going to explain their background…
