Not sure why the reliability of product safety testing from 50 years ago would be relevant. Look no further than e-Cigarettes for evidence of how long it takes to identify actual health risks, in a product that has one.

Not true. You can conduct experiments on a patented invention without infringing the patent.

Food is either carcinogenic or it isn't. An apple that you poop out four hours after you eat it isn't going to reach from beyond the toilet to start causing cancer 10 years later.

Well, if they sell it on PC (and they almost definitely will), and you have a killer gaming rig, you might be able to achieve something close. But on PS4 or Xbox One, or a computer costing less than $2k, expect it to be dialed back quite a bit.

It's a DICE game, built on the Battlefield engine. So expect a run of the mill FPS, but with more vehicle combat then you get in Call of Duty. Anything that doesn't involve shooting stuff in the head will be buried in cut-scenes or quick-time activities.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if this was a season 1 script that didn't make the final cut. Because of changes to the team structure over the past couple seasons, this might have been their first opportunity to recycle the story, with the ladies on ice.
The PoI is also the perpetrator, which is something they toyed with

Finch was describing his trial testimony. Doesn't sound like a guilty plea to me. Never mind the number of times we were reminded that he maintained his innocence.

I like how the explanation for the guy's 7 year jail sentence is that "the evidence wasn't all that convincing". As though that's cause for a more lenient sentence, rather than simply not convicting the guy.

If we want to get technical, he's been legally allowed to drink in Canada for two years now. Seeing as he only shows up in Canada occasionally - to shop for Christmas presents, whilst cleverly disguised in a parachute-pant jumpsuit with skunk stripes (http://www.lfpress.com/2014… - it doesn't seem all that relevant.

I hate this show. I'm emotionally invested, which is a victory of sorts, but I hated everything about the first hour. The second hour started it on the path towards redemption enough for me to stick around (I love long-form murder mysteries), but I have so many problems with this show.

What do you mean by that? I don't get the celebrity reference with Kowalski (or Funkhauser or Niblet). I don't remember any other examples from Due South, either.

HR is protecting themselves when they do that. If a company defames an employee on his or her way out the door, they just open themselves up to trouble. It's also terrible for morale.

The way that Claire said "Samaratin" ("Smardin") reminded me of the way Rod from Birdemic grunted out "solar panels" ("slurpnels").

I haven't watched Today in at least 10 years, so I missed her stint as host, but I never really liked her. She reeked of false sincerity (constantly softening her voice, furrowing her eyebrows and cocking her head askew).

I got exactly the same impression. But look on the bright side: the murder didn't take over the plot. It had kind of a "Fuck You" to CBS vibe, that I can't help but love.

When will O'Neal learn? Here he is, stomping on the throat of the little corporate conglomerate yet again, just because it tried to exercise its free speech right to co-opt the brand of something much more popular, totally ignorant to the fact it was being made fun of. What does O'Neal have against all-American

That's right, John. Winners poop before the Super Bowl.

Off screen, then?

Wait, don't tell me - Sean Bean's character dies.

"Or something" reads like an editing note that got left in. The simile clearly doesn't convey "husky". But it's fixable. E.g. "warm and husky, like Bridget Jones, covered in dark melted chocolate fudge caramel".
