I noticed, I noticed! Her voice is so distinctive.

How could I forget about that slap? ha. Thanks for the reminder. Definitely adds another layer to that scene.

I did hear that, but thought she meant the guys who were sitting around the table. There seemed to be some extra gravity to the long closeup of the standing guy.

Yup. Pretty sure that was the girl's brother (the man Ben & Sammy were arresting last ep) Ben made the lengthy eye contact with, too. He better watch his ass.

Yeah, I think that finally gave it away with less subtlety than previously. Usually when Dewey's teasing Cooper, it's in front of others. That he made the comment among only their own company seems to clarify the point that yes, Dewey does know Cooper is gay, and it's not an issue. Always nice to see some nuance from

Ahh, the ol' Dixie highway. Still drive it every now and then.

HA. My first three cars were Pontiacs. I kind of miss the brand, but it definitely fell off in later years. Still nothing like a classic GTO, though, and they come roaring out in full force on the Pontiac section of Woodward every summer.

Truth. I could watch a whole episode of him just walking. Got a fair bit in this ep, what with all the pacing around at the house/school.

Ava had the patience of a saint. I felt my blood pressure rise exponentially with every sentence Augustine uttered. What a fucking prick.

Amen, @avclub-2036aea21d81a7c8ece0175625da1ee6:disqus. I've got a lot of love for these underused characters. I'm still waiting patiently for a Tim bottle episode.

My DVR freaked out, too. Friggin UVerse.

Pontiac is practically a ghost town now.

Thank you for this mental image that I had somehow never conjured prior.

Indeed. With a name like YOLO, you knew he had to die.

YOLO!

There could be no response but this.

@avclub-a2f064bb9f3961645673fbc15c8a6739:disqus  Ahhh December 1981…it was a fine month (if I may praise my own birth for a moment)…

Word, @avclub-d0cf409eb912cc0cc950b41b6d892d07:disqus. I will add to that "New Car Smell" for Danes' pure, unadulterated kick-assery in the hotel.

Thank you for saying this. I know it's ridiculous, but I almost want to cry knowing how good it is and how few people actually watch it. TV has been so damned oversaturated with cop shows that people are burnt out on them. It's sad and unfortunate that such a fine drama gets so little attention, because the whole team

@avclub-6ffc79f9decf633c29b09e6c25621195:disqus It's funny because I noticed the burned leg sticking out of the sheets (the makeup was a bit meh), but for some reason, my brain did not connect to the story Cooper had literally just told. Chalk it up to an attention span thing.
