Absolutely. It follows the plot of the original show for about 14 or so episodes, and then goes off in the direction of the manga. Shit gets crazy. YMMV on which series takes the better route, but for my money FMA: Brotherhood is by far the superior series with a much better ending.

Interesting that they used "Sympathy for the Devil" when Goodman was introduced, as the last film Goodman and Washington were in was 1998's "Fallen," which played the same song at the end of the movie.
