Meredith Grey has been Perils of Pauline-ing through her entire existence, so it will be very interesting to see if, having acknowledged that there has been ridiculous amounts of bad stuff happening to her, the show is ready to stop putting her through the ringer. I think people want to see Meredith be happy.
