Three kids and no life insurance??  That's insane.

Just 1920s dance band records on my victrola.

Great beer!  My favorite is their Edmund Fitzgerald porter.

I would be interested, if it can travel safely between continents.   (I'm in the US).

I will be more than happy to give anybody classical music/ opera recommendations if they want it.

I have an ancient car with a cassette player, so I just use one of those cassette adapters.  I think those work a lot better than the FM ones (which tend to be pretty static-y in my experience).

I miss Maynard's Wine Gums.  They don't have those over here.  :(

I know lots of people with Mini Coopers, and they apparently get much better mileage than SmartCars (about 40-45 mpg).  And you can squash a few more people in there.

I have bought all my cars off of people's lawns (for $1,000- $3,000 cash), so I'm afraid I can't be of much help.

Anyone interested in an upstate New York meetup?  Anyone……?

Sounds good.  I made my first trip to NC earlier this year (to the Raleigh-Durham/  Chapel Hill areas— my mom forced me to watch women's basketball with her at Duke).  I can see why people want to live down there, it was very pleasant and actually warm and spring-ish in March.  Unlike the frozen wasteland where I

True.  It's a sad thing about America that knife crime seems kind of quaint and old-timey to us…

Yay!

I use some purple-y tinted mascara that's supposed to bring out green eyes.  (I think Cover Girl, maybe?)  Really works!

Love that dress!!  And the shoes! Good finds.

They do make those bodysuit-things for women that have snaps in the crotch.  (They look horribly uncomfortable, but I'm sure that keeps your shirt in place).

Very, very true.  It took me many years to learn how to find clothes that actually flattered me.  (Especially being 5'2").

Very nice!!

I have to say, coming from a fairly poor city in the US (with guns everywhere), I thought the "bad parts" of Edinburgh were really quite nice when I was living there. I was considerably less worried about being shot in the face.

We worked together many years ago at a museum.  (I was volunteering there as a teen, he was a hot older guy working there).  We stayed friends, I carried a massive torch for him for years, finally got together.  He was totally shocked I was interested in him.  :(  But all is well now.
