It's a toss-up between "They're Coming to Take Me Away, Ha-Ha" and  "You've Lost that Lovin' Feeling".

The orchestral version of the theme from "Sanford and Son" from 30 Rock (where Tracey donates to the NY Philharmonic, on condition that they play it for 4 hours).

I ended up with oral history interviews of farmers from the Cotswolds.  I…. guess that's okay, if my mourners are curious about the early days of steam engines.

I saw her on a checkout counter magazine just this afternoon, and did a mental Nelson-eqsue "HA ha!!"  Won't be there much longer…

Ugh, she's number 1 on my "punch in the face" list (displacing Meg Ryan for the top spot).  I can't stand cutesy.

I read that the person suing is actually a white lady, who's slightly swarthier than the other white employees on account of having a Sicilian father.

That's a great link, thanks!!

Those didn't age too well, as I recall.  I read them in middle school in the early '90s, and it was like a weird '70s time capsule where I didn't understand half the cultural references. Also some hilariously dated slang, I think.

E. Nesbit is a huge favorite of mine, particularly "The Railway Children" and "The Story of the Treasure Seekers".  I rarely see those around, though (I ordered used copies off Amazon).

When we discussed the Civil War in my 8th grade class (in upstate NY), one of the girls said,"We won, right?"  She didn't hear the end of that for a few years…

I would feel so bad if I made a kid cry like that.  That's why I've decided never to star in a blockbuster action film.

When a friend of mine was a prosecutor, he ran across a defendant called D'alcapone Alpacino Smith.

I, too, refuse to believe that Saxby Chambliss is a real person.

My favorite of all time is composer Carl Ditters von Dittersdorf.

Well, they can be both legally correct AND whiny.

Did it occur to you that someone named "Sean O'Neal" might also, in fact, be of Irish extraction?

…. did you somehow miss the fact that this is a tongue-in-cheek post on a snarky pop culture website, and not (say) a New York Times article?

Kids, kids.  We're all horrible.

"I know for a fact Saint Tibulus wore more clothes than that!"

Not in my family…
