that dog.
that dog.
I'm having a shockingly hard time finding photos of He-Man and She-Ra figures side-by-side, but here's a lousy eBay listing showing that they're both around 5 and a half inches tall: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/H…
Unless I'm wildly misremembering the proportions of my He-Man toys vs. my kid sister's She-Ra figures, they were the same general size.
I'll be honest: I was right there with you. The idea of online multiplayer holds zero appeal to me, and I haven't played an FPS online outside of "work" obligations since…I don't know, Unreal Championship for the original Xbox more than a decade ago. I love FPSes, but it's been campaign-or-nothin' for me for several…
Still my absolute favorite feature on the AV Club these days.
No.
She did do basic research! She went to Wikipedia and counted all the British albums, all the American repackages, and blah blah blah blah blah. I don't think it's a coincidence that the number she lists is the same as the studio albums at http://en.wikipedia.org/wik…
"ABC has put considerable amount of money in this show to make it look as close to cinema-quality as possible"
Ha! I had the exact same reaction. It's the only X-book I read, so I looked at the first page, looked back at the cover, and then did a search for Wolverine and the X-Men #35, assuming I'd missed an issue. Nope!
I am! I can't believe I forgot to rattle that off in my list of Marvel books I'm really digging these days.
"reading issue after issue of death and despair gets exhausting"
I was going to post something terrifyingly similar. I love the world-building in the series, but if felt like season three frequently got so distracted by delving into every last facet of Venture lore that there wasn't much room left for the usual level of wit or humor. I don't think it's a failure or anything, but…
"The band had been underground swing legends, but got a little miffed at all the Johnny-Come-Latelies to the scene and, rather than making more swing records, experimented with everything from Motown to Caribbean music to funk. 14 years later, though, the group is finally releasing another swing record."
It's true that they weren't a swing band, but some of what you're saying's not quite right either.
Very glad I can start reading Iron Man again. As much as I love Kieron Gillen's writing in general, Greg Land's art in #1 rendered the book pretty much unreadable.
There are probably a bunch of terrible Lovefool covers, but if I had to guess, it's probably New Found Glory's: http://www.youtube.com/watc…
Amazon listed DVD and Blu-ray releases for a June 11th release for a while there, but those listings have since changed to placeholders. There was never any artwork for House of Cards that looked like an actual DVD/Blu-ray case or anything.
Moxy Fruvous has technically been on one of those indefinite hiatuses for 13 years now, inspiring one lone, wistful tear whenever I think about it.
Am I the only person here who doesn't have a snarky comment and is genuinely looking forward to this? Apparently! The Christmas album was pretty dreadful — too stripped down and joyless — but I genuinely love the first two volumes.
Petra's the best. that dog.'s "Retreat from the Sun" is in the running as one of my all-time favorite albums, and she's a huge, huge part of the reason why.
