I personally think that's an error, I know the publication you saw that in, and tbh it's poorly written and based upon already existing rumours, spun into a new article. I think they meant to write season 3 imo.

It could well have been a mirroring of the cut-wife, during an early scene in episode 3 of season 2 she says to Venessa, "..if you think you are touched by the demon, then you best walk out that door, because what I can give you for that is knowledge you don't want little girl". Watch episode 3 of season 2 again. The cut-wife refers to Vanessa as "little girl" in an early scene (and less importantly whilst cooking later in the episode Vanessa says, "Too much salt").
