If I may add way too late:

Took me a while to get around to seeing the episode but sheesh, McNutt sure finds nothing more pleasurable than a well-structured narrative.  I agree that there should be something tying most elements of a story together (otherwise it's just your average Family Guy episode) but every single thing I read from him keeps

I'm currently taking a long time finishing the final episode of Thirtysomething.  Mainly because I was getting worried that no other show would be able to fill my aching need for hateable characters and writing.  (Another reason is that it's so difficult to watch a straight hour's worth of those yuppie jerks whining

Call me a Philistine
I think it took me 5 days to finish Seven Samurai. Made the mistake of watching the fully unabridged edition and my god it bored me to motherfuckin' tears. Even the big showdown started to look like it was repeating itself after a while.

showers, bullies, zero G training, zzzzz….
I often feel like I'm the only one who thought this book was very boring, especially for how short it was. Those zero-gravity training scenes were so unbelievably long and unexciting. And that was basically half the book. Most of the rest was kids bullying other kids,

She probably comes off better in an interview…
…and maybe her book isn't supposed to be taken as instructional.

More than any single thing…
…Bush was, is, and always will be a spoiled brat.

Whoops, didn't realize this movie is actually called "Douchebag". That's a whole different animal.

I for one am surprised…
…that it took this long for a movie of any kind named "Douchebags" to come out. I know some people who say it dozens of times a day.

I pre-hate it because of all the billboards plastered around LA: "Punk. Prodigy. Genius. Billionaire. Rebel." Gimme a freakin' break. How can anyone seriously call this nerd's nerd a punk or rebel? I guess he's a jerk in real life, so maybe you can call him a punk in the old sense of the word. But rebel?

For hot human-on-bug action…
…I'd take Starship Troopers (the movie) over Ender's Game in any form. After friends and relatives kept naming it as one of their favorite books I gave it a try. Sweet lord almighty what a boring slog, even for a book that's not very long. The bulk of it was chapter after chapter after

Yeah, why no mention of the possibility…
…that he never killed anyone? Bateman's a spoiled loser who has no real courage or value as a person so he goes crazy and imagines taking violent revenge on those with better stuff. (There's also a throwaway line with his secretary that alludes to his dad owning the company.)

I bet no one will even care about this post [sniff]
Finished season 1 on Netflix streaming and I gotta say: not since The Sopranos have I seen such a petty, selfish cast of characters. The 1st half of the season not only has all the characters constantly whining and treating each other like jerks, sometimes one will

Even though the term 'fascist' gets used for nearly everything these days, I'd say that one of the remaining official definitions is a society ruled by the military. Or a society that completely models itself on the military. But you're right, those in the military in Starship Troopers are allowed to participate in

The uniforms are also pretty cool looking

maybe they're not the bad kind of fascists
I found myseflf really rooting for the fascists towards the end. Like when that guy and whatserface are trapped by the bugs in a cave, and the brain bug's about to suck the guy's brain out but right before he says: "Y'know… one day… someone who looks like me… is gonna kill

Well I saw them in LA in 2004
And they did not rock. They actually seemed pretty old and pretty lame. Maybe they were just tired.

Chronicle!

No, actually Daria sucked
I don't think I was ever able to make it through a whole episode but anyone who still likes this show because they thought it was edgy, original, or profound— instead of just for pure nostalgia reasons— must love the same tired high school stereotypes that have been kicking around since at

already enough campy banter without Whedon
I finally saw a couple things of Joss Whedon's: Dr. Horrible, the 1st 30 minutes of Serenity, and part of an Angel episode. I discovered that even though I am a nerd there is no way in hell I could ever approach that guy's level. And when I was 8 I dressed up like Tron for
