I'm going to go ahead and defend the CGI stuff, mostly because I thought the mock-ups of trash-rags were funny. I can't remember who was on the cover (possibly the famous Ms. Kardashian), but the headline was "I Might Cut My Bangs!!!!". As someone who is a voracious reader of the covers of such rags while waiting to

One of the things I love on this show is when some tossed off comment actually resonates with me as something I've thought or done. When Marshall referred to Kim Kardashian as "Ms. Famous for something my wife has explained to me a million times but I keep forgetting", I had myself a great big giggle. I think three

"The pranks are funny because they play off of Dwight's hubris."

Again tonight, Pam did the "I'm a girl, and adorable, so bow to my every whim" thing. I mean, granted, incredibly minor issue at hand, but still, it grates.

Joe vs. the Volcano
Is so, so underrated! Scott just won some major points with me. Has Joe v the V been My Year of Flopped yet?

Oh, Alexander Gould
At least in this role he was pervy but not all that creepy. That's a 50% improvement on his character on Weeds (for his ultimate foray into creepy-child acting, see the "Lindsay Gets Stoned" episode of Freaks and Geeks).

covered in bees - I remember that comment from TWOP too. Very accurate. Poor Willow's clothing. Tara's was bad too, not so much intrinsically, but in terms of finding clothes that flattered her. She's lovely, and they kept putting her in these hippie sacks. Gross.

I liked season 5 too. A lot of the Spike stuff was tiresome to me, but Illyria was cool and creepy, and by that time Fred was a character I really liked (not my feeling from the beginning, so good on Amy and the actors). My biggest complaint off the top of my head is the weird end to the Gunn/Fred relationship -

Oh, Wesley. Was there any hint of what a great character he would turn out to be in his time on Buffy? Maybe a little (you could tell he was a talented actor), but god, they just kept finding layers with him.

Ah, Cynthia Bergstrom, fondly referred to by my ilk as "The Fashion Nazi". I'm pretty sure she was at ComicCon this year, but I don't know what show she's costuming now. Look for the female characters who appear to be wearing upholstery, and there'll she be.

I can't remember his name - he was the time-jumpy guy who was all tied up in the prophecy that drove the whole Connor arc, right? The voice is very distinctive.

It's creepy too, when you figure in the fact that at this point the Scoobies don't know that Jenny was working on bringing Angel back. Her death just seems like a totally random joy-killing.

I thought Toni Colette was pretty in Little Miss Sunshine. Something about makeup, or hair…anyway, I pretty much always enjoy her, and she seems like a good choice for something like this. John Corbett just oozes supportive caregiver, so that works. I'm not sure about Diablo Cody, but if Juno wasn't a complete

She was a Laker girl, or a Dallas Cowboy cheerleader, or something, before the show started, so I'm fairly certain you can ogle guilt-free. As of her appearance on Veronica Mars, she was still looking absolutely stunning. Haven't seen her much, lately, though - wasn't she on Celebrity Apprentice or some other

Hate was too strong a word, and it wasn't directed at the blog, but rather at a certain tone that appeared in the comments that came after. There are only 9 things in the whole pop-culture pantheon that are immune to backlash. Three of them are Arrested Development, The Flaming Lips, and Godfather 2. The other six

I have to say, I didn't find his rant at all offensive or off-putting (except for insulting Jason Lee, which is just tacky). It would be nice if every decent talent could only work in great stuff, but that's just not the case. As has been pointed out, David Cross's acting range is pretty limited (although I almost

AV Club should do a Northern Exposure run, if only because they DVD sets are so frikking cute. Really, I just want an excuse to take the DVDs out of those brightly colored puffy jackets.

Who holds back the electric car?
Who makes Steve Gutenberg a star?
We do! We do!

I'm also sad to see the game end. It's been a brilliant direction for the show to take.

I was more reminded of that incredibly creepy Real Doll documentary where the guy demonstrates his "girlfriend's" removable tongue. Yick. I think these things are cyclical and not necessarily connected - certain ideas just seem to pop up a lot in pop culture at the same time. I think certain taboos get brought to
