My dad spent the majority of his life believing he was Mexican, and he and my grandmother have fairly dark skin. When my mom's parents first met him, they asked how long he'd been in the country for.

Yes we were. We really should be considered white, but for some reason we're not.

I'd register, but I'm one quarter Spanish, which according to the laws of Trump's America, makes me not white. Right?

I fell in love with the show when I was in middle school, and every time I bring it up to a guy who's actually watched it, they agree that it's pretty great.

That was probably the one good thing about the twist.

Was the Citizen Kane homage, worth it Rowling/Yates?

I mean, the original production had Jim Broadbent! Can you imagine Jim Broadbent and Colin Farrell in the same movie?! Be still, my heart!

Oh, we should fight it.

Why was that cut from the movie?!!

*sullenly eats Taco Bell*

Any time someone says Colin Farrell is a bad actor I force them to watch In Bruges and open their eyes.

They probably could have just condensed the Barebones/Shaw family into one group and saved a lot of time and have a more threatening tertiary antagonist.

Colin Farrell has aged like a fine French wine, would we even have noticed?

Well yeah, but Susan had like zero lines, and he'd made the rest of the cast British (which apparently no other major director would promise to do, hence his hiring) so J.K. understandably let that slide.

It is Zoe Kravitz!

I remember a month or so ago my brother said he wished they'd cast Farrell as Scamander, and now I mourn the alternate universe where that movie exists.

Holy shit, that was Zoe Kravitz?

But Demolition Man is a great movie!

That was my first thought when they revealed the twist, not "Oh shit, it's the bad guy.

My mother/brother's first thought was, "Oh shit, that's Johnny Depp", which is presumably not what the filmmakers intended.

My brother (who liked the movie a lot more than I did) wished that his scene had been more than a cameo, and said it would have been cool if his character had made them do him a favor for him to get the information they wanted.
