Yup, it'll be the same thing as Arrested Development. I couldn't get any of my friends to watch it when it was on, but now they're all obsessed with it.
Of course telling them "REMEMBER ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT? THIS IS THE SAME THING! WATCH COMMUNITY!" doesn't seem to work.

Yeah, I agree with this. The bands that are big enough here to be annoying, but can't crack the US markets are so much worse than the bad bands that do get US play.

My local modern rock station has a timeslot where a listener gets to come in and play what they want. Of course it always involves the person playing the exact same grunge+Sublime songs that the station plays all the time anyways.
And of course it's always some jackass who jerks themselves off talking about how varied

Yeah you missed the point. He's not saying he's surprised that the music is starting to be perceived as 'old' (it certainty is and the author acknowledges that). It's that there is enough of a shift in the culture of the music that they don't really fit together as 'classic rock.'
