@hero (it's not letting me tag you for some reason), yup the Cedar Lee. You should make a point of going sometime, for a midnight movie or something. It's fabulous. I try and support the smaller Cleveland Cinemas theaters as much as I can.

Our theater for Shame was SOLD OUT. We were stunned. However, when it was over the older woman in front of us said "Well, I'm never going to see another movie the paper gives an A to again!" So what, did she just see it was an A and go see it blindly? Did she not read the description, or notice it was NC-17? Because

That's Superdeformed. He's having trouble finding it : ( I got a message from him over the weekend. I don't think there's been an update.

I also watched Limitless while bored and lazy one day, and even I couldn't get into it and I can really get into some crap. Nothing compelled in the story at. all.

Funny you should mention The Player, Craig, as I watched that for the first time this weekend! Granted, it automatically requires a second viewing because I was both drinking and chatting while it was on, but a few things stuck out, particularly the opening sequence. "But it's a thriller!"

This is one of my go-to songs for all occasions. I think it goes on every mix I make.

You started following me! I'm still not sure what the exact purpose of following is on here, but huzzah. Is it because I was flirting with you yesterday?

yes. yes for the love of god yes.

@avclub-4caf6aa0375b2499ebfe7e971b36eee3:disqus Yes! I'm a bit ahead of you now, because I've been watching it obsessively, but not super far ahead of you. Also, I don't think he's homely, he's just not my type. I'm actually going to sit down and work on this blog entry now while its all fresh in my brain.

Honestly? I was thinking of analyzing why We hate Channing Tatum, and when I was jotting some things down, Our general dislike of him made me think about Renee Zellweger and Our general dislike of her. They are both kind of awful, but get the job done when cast appropriately. THEN I thought "Speaking of Renee

I was just notified to the existence of this film earlier today, when, during research for a blog entry, I found myself on Renee Zellweger's imdb page. She hasn't been doing much acting lately.

We don't like to talk of that dark time.

I'm not totally opposed to the astral projection business. I don't think they pulled it off here, but it's an interesting concept that has yet to be decimated by pop culture.

Did a great job of making me jump. Before you find out what exactly the deal is, all the scares were legit creepy. I just watched it a second time and still found myself shrieking once or twice. (Byrne's glimpse into the nursery and seeing a dude by the bassinette is one of them).

Fenix TX, making a comeback in 2012.

I just squealed. "To all you people up there in City Hall…"

Excellent point. I had barely even noticed that no one was talking about female comedians. Ellen's standup is particularly nuanced when it comes to dealing with every day bullshit. I feel like people have lost sight of how ridiculously funny she is.

Random bits:

Two things: Eddie Izzard is my favorite stand up comedian. The fact that most of his schtick revolves around history, war, druids, god, etc, kind of blows my mind.

I think he's pretty fantastic and dreamy. Did you see Beautiful Boy?
