For me, this film does the best job of plumbing the depths of sadness with counterweighted highs of peak comedy execution. Amazingly, Steve Martin is playing the straight man to Candy's boorish slob. At that point in his career, Martin still had the sheen of "wild and crazy guy" madcappery.

Black Dynamite has TONS of quotable dialog, but I love the bit players who have some killer lines…
