What's even more mind-boggling is the fact that the current FG showrunner is Richard Appel, a classic-era Simpsons writer who wrote "Mother Simpson," one of the most emotional episodes in the show's history. That guy, of all people, is the one overseeing the cesspool of modern-day Family Guy.

"Zeppelin rules!"

The Simpsons without Harry Shearer? It STINKS!

Yeah, I remember hearing about him saying around the time of season 14, something like "these last three seasons have been the worst," which, fair enough, lots of Simpsons fans say that stuff all the time and still do. But I seem to remember him also saying something like "these seasons make Season Four look brilliant

This is the right idea, though I'd go a step further and say that fat-shamers aren't actually "telling them what the already know about their bodies," since fat people aren't necessarily unhealthy. Being overweight CAN be unhealthy, sure, but given the variation of human metabolism and human bodies in general, it's

"But let's not pretend that Blur ever did anything but rip off superior artists, whether it was the Stone Roses or the Kinks.
And by the way, it IS their best song. For whatever that says about them."

"At what point will the hipsters consumers realize that they are being cynically preyed upon with these "special" releases products?"

This is partly why they are viewed with such disgust by hipster MRAs.

They're even better raw!

Made all the most disconcerting by the fact that he appears to have the eyes of an anime character in that header photo.

Calvin and Hobbles: They haven't changed a bit!

This is a good example of a latter-day Simpsons criticism that totally misses the point. They did not do an "episode on vaping." The theme of the episode wasn't "Vape fever sweeps Springfield!" Bart vaped to impress a girl. Sure, it's a modern reference, but it's a rooted in a pretty universal childhood experience.

Well, Cotton died, which is kind of like aging.

Maybe the producers are hoping that after 28 seasons, they may finally have learned what the jazz is all about.

Hey, you know, we're getting into golden time.

Irish last names?

"Watching the first act, I was convinced that the promo materials had
listed the wrong broadcast order, so long and convoluted is the
introduction of the main plot…this is all in service to a setup for
the real plot, which doesn’t even begin until after the first commercial
break…"

It's pretty well-known that that's been the case with Harry Shearer since like, season 5. Azaria still sounds pretty engaged to me, though.

Does Seth Meyers really do that though? I don't feel like I see anything from his show ever going viral. Corden came in and immediately starting aping Fallon's viral-ready stuff and it seems to be paying off, but I don't feel like I ever hear anything about Seth Meyers' show. FWIW I happened to watch a little of it

This quote proves the first quote true.
