Bees?
Bees?
My evil… moisture… buddy.
This is a really stupid feature. Like, really stupid. It's by far the most inane article I've ever read on the AVClub - just a pretty transparent ploy to generate traffic by getting us to read a few AD quotes, then come to the comments section so we can repeat our favorites. Boo, AV Club.
But yay AD quote threads.
I wouldn't call Theon's scenes "torture porn." It's torture, but it;s not porn. As I understand it, the distinction is this: Art is supposed to make you feel something. But not everything that makes you feel something is immediately art. Pornography makes you feel something (arousal), but it gets there in the cheapest…
@avclub-e53fc2424af041d07a7eef5cd8773505:disqus I did the exact same thing. I flipped ahead looking at chapter titles in a blind panic, and not seeing Arya's name for so long made me nearly despair. I was on the verge of putting down the book and never picking it back up again when I found her next chapter.
Abe and Peggy are terrible for each other, they always have been. Ted and Peggy at least have the same values.
Seeing Betty having to deal with giant termites would be pretty fantastic.
Too soon.
"If you think this has a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention…"
That Hannibal makes this point consistently is my favorite part about the show.
Fuck it. Cast Michael Richards.

This was a fantastic episode. It's not all about the (mediocre) CGI and the setting (although I loved getting another alien planet episode); Doctor Who really shines when it starts to dig into character. Any episode where we get to explore the burdens of being a Time Lord, instead of just the power and whimsy of The…
To me, that wig is the number one source of tension in this show. Every time I see him with Martha with that wig on, I'm just WAITING for the wig to slip and for bad things to happen as a result.
"Ok, you see, you have Fannie and Freddie. They might be brother and sister. Let me back up. At the end of Trading Places, they're selling frozen orange juice futures that… you know what, let me back up again. Eddie Murphy was fresh off 48 Hours -"
"Let me stop you right there."
"I'm sorry, am I moving too quickly for…
Her last name is POOVEY? Ho-lee shitsnacks.
The episode was uneven, but it worked for me. It had moments that were "rom-com-y," as a lot of people were putting it, but I bought into it because of all the texture that went into those moments. I'm thinking here mostly of Hannah's resolution with Adam and Marnie's with Charlie. I'll talk Marnie/Charlie first.
Man on the Street. The few episodes following that are a bit uneven, but Man on the Street definitely marks the righting of the ship. The last two episodes of the season, plus the amazing epilogue of Epitaph One, are when the show kicks into high gear and never leaves.
