French Dipolmacy - great A story, lousy B story
"French Diplomacy" is probably the most schizophrenic of all the NR episodes for me. I've always loved the main A story (Bill's editorial and its consequences) but hated the "Matthew becomes a dentist" story. The problem with that one isn't that it takes place outside

""Captain, I protest. I am not a merry man."

These gritty re-imaginings are getting a bit ridiculous.

Inertia?

"Security Door" was a brilliant episode. Probably some of Dave Foley's funniest work, not just on Newsradio but in his career as a whole.

I think Bill punching Steve and Dave's subsequent reaction is probably my favorite scene from this episode. I remember bursting out laughing when I first saw it - the timing on this scene is perfect.

"'Feel my skills, donkey, donkey, donkey, donkey."

Personally, I'd have to go with the Mr. Show lie detector sketch as the all time best (much as I do love The Simpsons and Newsradio). All three are brilliant though.

Aw, I chuckled. Don't sweat it Kielbasa - perhaps Funkrucker didn't mean to snap at you and is just working through some "issues" right now.

We should make this a regular comment feature - "Six Degrees of Separation: The Newsradio Edition"

I'd say all the characters - even Jimmy and Bill - suffered to an extent in season four (particularly late in the season) due to the writers increasing reliance on broader and broader comedy. They all started veering close to self-parody. Matthew probably suffered the worst as a character because he lost a lot of

Plus so good to see Kevin McDonald! It's a shame the show's producers couldn't get the other Kids to make cameos as well. I remember Simms saying in one of the commentaries that he tried to get that to happen but wasn't able to get any of them except Kevin.

Yeah it does. Sony - those cheapass motherfuckers - are trying to cut costs. But for $20 you can't really complain. (Well, you can but…anyways..). At that price you can also pickup either individual sleeves or a DVD book and just keep the disks in there.

"Security Door" and "Pure Evil" are great episodes that showcase Dave Nelson's loss of collected calm and control (such as it was) over the station. It seemed like Mr Caramanica was expecting a different show - or at least a different character from Dave Foley. I think his review is way off. Dave's understated

I've heard that Costco has the entire series for $20. Nice deal - that's just $4 per season.

Veering off topic here but does anyone know what Grey Man did to warrant a complete expunging from the av club?

Don't blame Hulk. They drove a dump truck full of money up to his house. He's not made of stone.

"In fact, it states pretty emphatically that it doesn't matter what any of us do, or think, or believe because god already decided who is a beleiver and who is not a beleiver before he even created us."

If Patton Oswalt wanted smoke blown up his ass he'd be at home with a cigarette and a short length of tube.
