My condolences. Will there be a funeral or just a simple memorial service?

four-quadrant play
Is that what they're calling group sex these days?

"does anyone else think Arrested Development might have borrowed that idea and then transformed it into the doctor who breaks vaguely bad-sounding news to people?"

"His wife was worth three mules and an iPod."

Well, he didn't create it but he's associated with "Flight of the Conchords" via a consulting producer credit. I've only seen the first season but I think that's a charming little show.

"Eh, leave the kid alone. At least he's writing and reading, as opposed to just posting stupid shit up on facebook."

I loved The Jumper episode as well but I'm one of "anti-season-5-Lovitz"-ers. I actually like Lovitz a lot - he's one of my favorite character actors - and I certainly sympathize with what he and the NR cast and writers had to deal with in season 5. The problem is his character Max. He's just friggin annoying. He

Well damn. This is what I get for not reading down in the comments far enough. Thanks for posting that link!

"French Diplomacy" is one of the best episodes from season 4. I think that's also the one where Bill gets his "anatomically correct bra" line in.

"Our Fiftieth Episode"
I've always really liked this episode. I'm not sure why it gets such a bad rap amongst NR fans. Lovitz is perfect in his role here. And that cold open is absolutely brilliant - showing what a great physical comedian Phil Hartman can be.

@zxcvb:

"The effect is way too subtle and erratic for that. That's why the Army gave up on it. Not because it doesn't exist, it's just not consistent enough to be useful."

"There are some serious academic studies being done on "psychic" effects"

"MATTHEW BROCK IS A KENYAN NATIONALIST"

That's the beauty - we'll never know for sure. Bill's reaction leads us to believe Matthew is indeed the true son but we never quite know whether or not to trust Bill.

I liked Stewart in this episode. After he drops his "pretend-for-Matthew's-sake" twin brother act his straight and down-to-earth demeanor is a perfect complement to Matthew's spazziness. Plus I loved Stewart's listing of the differences between him and Matthew:

The ending of "Airport"
Great writeup Donna but I'm actually a bit surprised you didn't mention the ending of "Airport" which to me is a brief but important moment that pushes the episode up into "classic" status.

I forgot about Giles termination. Given that I'm going with investment income for season 4.

Giles' income
"-So Giles isn't a librarian anymore. How does Giles make money with no gig? Is he independently wealthy? Did I miss something?"

Skinned Kermits
Hmm.
