It's odd. I think 3 is the worst one, but it's the only one I actually own. Probably because it's the only one I saw in the theatre.

Yeah that was a bit disappointing, because that really didn't need to be  another movie where he was completely unkillable. Let him die, just the once, okay?

I've only seen the movie, but yes, he seemed like a very good dad.

It is the only way we learn better

And he has maybe ten lines in Armageddon, so yeah not exactly a huge star yet.

Why don't you just decide like it?

Yeah seriously, I hate this guy. And I'm really glad I don't have to listen to him for three-ish hours.

I just don't get it.

He actually had a decent role in Playing by Heart. It's almost a romantic lead.

"The Hiding Place" and of course "Anne Frank" for me. You've got to ease kids into these things, I think and neither of those have the actual mass murder at the forefront.

I can't imagine reading that as a child. Not only for the "your parents can and will die" angle but for the overarching "You are not safe even though you're a child" theme. Plus the less dramatic but still pretty terrifying "Some grown-ups will hate you, not because of anything you did"

Toy Story 3's got some flaws but for me they all get wiped away by the looks on Buzz and Woody's faces when he grabs Buzz's outstretched hand.

The toy burning in that and the doll being thrown on the fire in the beginning of the movie version of Secret Garden both hit me really hard when I first saw/read them.

Okay, since we're sharing emotionally raw viewing experiences:Days after my grandmother died, I'm sitting in the living room with my mother who is constantly on the verge of crying. I don't even remember if I was holding her but I suspect not. I say "You know what I'd really like to watch?" And my mom bursts into

And here I was fondly remembering/crying over Velveteen rabbit and now my emotions feel inadequate. If that book taught my anything about death it was subtle enough that I didn't notice. What I got was how sad it is that things get ignored when they aren't new and shiny and begging for your attention. Of course, quiet

Yeah, I didn't make it all the way through this one.

That scene where she sloooowly kills that Indian with the arrow he shot her with was definitely the high point of the episode for me. That and "History is written by the zebra, for the zebra"

I found it incredibly adequate.

Whereas I had "Cool Rider" in my head during this entire episode.

Haven't seen that whole movie. Only that scene in a clip show. Gah!
