Well 1408 scared the hell out of me. However, I don't remember why, thus I'm forced to assume it was 95% jump scares. Does that speak well for this movie? Probably not.

Um yeah, after I wrote my comment, I remembered how subtraction works…chagrined.

Finally saw it
And I'm having trouble finding the dark funny. It's too overshadowed by all the horror. That poor cat…Yeah I don't have words for this yet.

Because of Javier Bardem, maybe?

I was really really hoping for an art direction nod. I think that's the one it deserved. But it did sound wonderful too..

Only seen 5 out of ten. Luckily the only one not playing (or netflixable) is 127 Hours. Which I don't want to see. Sorry, Franco.

Yeah expanding the field to ten makes this alot easier to predict. I guessed 7 out 10 correctly.

Always very strange to see something get a best picture nom and not best director. If you appreciate a whole film, you appreaciate the person behind it, yes?

One good line, at least
Him saying "Boys, tell your mamas Hank Williams is sorry" before attacking.

can he not come back please?
It's not that he was mean, he's always mean, that's his thing. It's that none of it was funny. Really, that's the best he had? Tom Cruise is gay? Cher is old? Charlie Sheen is a drug addicted slut? Also, both Deniro and Bale were alot funnier when they openly mocked the HFPA.

"Constrained by history"? Red dress thing aside, it wasn't really faithful to history at all

cautious optimism
I still like Ron Howard (minus Angels and Demons which was such a bad idea for him) and I like Kevin James. So, this might be seen by me.

I really liked the trailer
Maybe I should just let it stand on it's own, and not see the actual movie?

And my suspicions are correct. I don't know if anyone else has seen the Trilogy episodes of Quantum Leap but there was a mother in a mental hospital with the scariest eyes I'd ever seen…sure enough and IMDb just me told that it was her

full grown man on little girl violence moments
One of the guys mentioned the finale fight scene between Mark Strong (what are the odds that's a real name?) and Chloe Moretz as totally crossing the line from a daddy perspective. And for me that was one of my favorite moments in the movie, because we've just watched

And they actually credited him in the trailer!

Furlong is even more annoying than I've been lead to believe.

Lesson learned from this and the Craft: don't even lightly betray Faruzia Balk…she will not take it well.

When I saw True Grit and Black Swan this weekend, both theatres were pretty packed. I saw them both during the day on New Years Eve and Day, respectively, and I don't live in New York. So that's a good sign, right?

Well I saw True Grit and Black Swan and since we're relatively low on Oscar bait this year (So I'll see King's Speech and everything else that's gonna get nominated is probably already rentable?) I think I'll actually be able to see them again. My mom loved True Grit the second time, because she noticed the jokes.
