Funny you should mention the old gunfire sound affect…I watched Westworld this week (meh) and was struck by how much movie guns don't sound like that anymore. I too am glad it's gone.

Hang on…
You give Justified a big sloppy word kiss when every you can and you're not impatiently anticipating it's second season?! I myself cannot wait for February 9th.
RIP
I here I just listened to the podcast on "The Town" where Tasha noticed how weird and gaunt he was starting to look. And based on that picture I can see what she meant now.
Licky_Kicky, get ready to love it.
missed opportunity
It was scary, but I wouldn't call it a vampire movie. It felt like someone had written a zombie movie and cut and pasted vampire in at the last second, because they wanted one of them (Danny Houston) to talk down to the humans for a bit…and then rip them to shreds. I don't think you can ever take…
huh…
In a huge contrast to the 2010 list, I actually like about 5 of these movies. I actually saw Rise of the Lycans in the theatre and own the DVD.
a whole genre
Horror in general (99% not from this year) is what I discovered this year. I've been scared of it my whole life and finally dove in. Thanks to some great write ups here, I've found so much to love.
Oh yeah, my brother in law showed me the Maxx this year, and I loved it to pieces (except for that godawful ending)
Seether, actually. I have the soundtrack. I'm that person who liked Daredevil…and its soundtrack.
So Statham won't be doing it, but I can safely assume Audi is on board, yes? Because a weekly half hour Audi commerciall has got to be even better for sales than a movie every four years.
Yeah, that's primarily why I hated Taken. I do enjoy Liam, and mindless action fluff from the good people at Gaumont (right?) but I there were too many insulting sexual and ethnic stereotypes blocking my view of the throat punching. But more than that, it was like you said, very Victorian. I mean his virgin daughter…
Stan Lee
his doesn't seem that bad.
Your self promoting worked, I read it. Good.
Seriously?!
Not like it's just Altman who did that. Is there any other reason for random nudity in Stranger Than Fiction beyond the director not wanting stupid kids who like Will Ferrel in the theatre?
Christmas movies at home (Miracle on 34th st remake, The Ref and half of Love Actually) plus the Walking Dead finale followed by MST3K Laserblast.
I don't know if this is the same one you were talking about but I saw a documentary about pre vs post production code movies that was specicifically how stupid female roles got after the code compared to what they were before. Basically before the code actresses were playing doctors, executives, etc and after the…
suggestion
the title of this inventory should be changed to "Seriously MPAA, does Eli Roth have pictures of you playing golf with Satan?!"
I'm a little late here (I just now read the book, okay!) but isn't it worth mentioning that all of Rorshach's action hero one liners, like "You're locked in here with me!" are from the book. So the bad ass anti hero thing was already there, and in a movie, it's fun to watch. What bothers me more is that (outside of…
Huh, We're three days into December have already had our first snow and I haven't watched The Ref yet…wonder why.
