Seriously, the season that covered Jake's addiction and Phil's death was unbelievable. They did win the Emmy for it, I think. I love that show.

Ugh, that's precisely what the book never does. That movie was such a waste.

Or when the characters figure something out, and then re-explain it to the audience by saying, "It makes sense, doesn't it?" or "Don't you get it?"

She actually looks younger now than she did on Buffy. When she popped up on The Vampire Diaries, I had to check her IMDb page. She's been playing teenagers since an appearance on My So-Called Life in 1994. That's almost 20 years.

I agree that VO works pretty well when the narrator is a "character" who does not appear in the movie/show. Arrested Development and The Royal Tenenbaums are maybe the best examples of that for me.

Right, if they were actual people, I would probably not like them (well, except Maeby and George Michael). But as characters, I find them all completely lovable despite their moral failings. They're just so charming and hilarious and sometimes very deeply stupid. They are precious to me.

I reread it just a few years ago. Great book.

Where's here? I heard that in Australia, where Zusak is from, it wasn't marketed as YA, and I thought that was true in the UK as well.
