@hillarybenedict:disqus This also became much more moving to me when I remembered that the government agents searching the house earlier in the season callously destroyed the basement fort in their search, meaning that Will and the boys probably had to rebuild it in her honor — really like a shrine…

"Fargo" is this exactly, mainly because I think "Brainerd"would be an awful title despite it being where most of the movie takes place.

Yeah, Elvis Costello did something similar with his memoirs, but as I recall the curated playlist of his past songs was included with the purchase of the book, not a standalone release.

Eh, credit where it's due though: Snyder, for all his faults, is a visual director. I thought the strictly non-verbal (showing, not telling) of Batman's backstory was really quite effective and elegant in BvS, and I really didn't like that movie.

Hey guys, had the same problem earlier this week, and got it fixed by using these instructions from edked, hopefully its useful to ya'll:

Yeah, I had the same problem too. If you try to log into AVC while logged into Disqus, and then log out of Disqus, it somehow works I think? Try playing around with it, there doesn't seem to be a super firm rhyme or reason to anything, but at least I was able to get back into my AVC account…

For what it's worth, I used to be in a performance art-y/punk band, and we had a song called "Three Cheeseburgers" where the singer would stand in front of the mic and dance while eating three cheeseburgers. The band just vamped on a surf rock riff until he was done. All I'll say is that it took a *lot* out of him

I only recently realized they made more than three, and I've been goddamn obsessed for the past couple of weeks. Rewatched them a bunch (maybe with a little chemical help once of twice), but there's just so much to pore over. And the songs are too catchy.

Aaaaaaah okay, I didn't get that they were instructions. Just re-read and followed 'em, and it worked like a charm — back on the ol' legacy account, notifications back intact. Thanks so much for the help!

I keep seeing notifications for my old pre-discuss AVC account, and when I click on them, it just brings me to a screen telling me to sign up for Disqus, and not showing me any of my actual notifications, and it is the most frustrating thing, making it essentially useless to comment. No idea how to fix it. But I've

Dude! I was there too! What a dope show, glad the rain held out. Did you see any of the earlier groups? Car Seat Headrest was pretty okay (better on record), but Protomartyr was phenomenal and I danced like crazy at Prince Rama's DJ set haha

R.I.P. 285 Kent, R.I.P. Glasslands, R.I.P. Cameo Gallery, etc. etc.

In addition to the Third Man Stuff, I'd also like to throw in there that he also has a history of working/collaborating with women (most notably Meg White and Alison Mosshart) and championing their contributions in an industry and genre that is exceptionally male-dominated, and can be quite sexist (see: most

I think he was referring to/criticizing commenters on White's post on Facebook, not you specifically, fwiw.

Well I mean, clearly a great script isn't required to be successful, otherwise Avatar woulda crashed and burned.

Yeah, but since that wasn't Scott, I'm not sure that has much of a bearing on the tone of this movie.

Yeah, from experience, I've definitely done a little fudging too, and in this scenario it does seem a little absurd. But having to quote elected officials/politicians fairly regularly for work has trained me to be kind of a stickler for brackets when in doubt — they can come down *hard* (as will your editors) if

I'd venture to guess in the transcription process the recording was garbled, but sounded like "jump," and it's the only thing that really makes sense, but since the author couldn't be 100% sure put the brackets in to be safe.

Yeah, for real. And the linked Genius explanations and the curt PR statement made about the song make me more than sure that this is all done very tongue in cheek.

Yeah… Uh, this song seems kinda like an intentional bummer… A very very strange direction to go in, kinda got to admire it a bit.
