Jesus, since it seems like maybe only 3 people in the entire comments section actually listened to the track, I'm just throw out there that this song is actually pretty fantastic, and very Blue album — complete with those sweet vocal harmonies and guitar work.

Funnily enough I saw him open for Kanye on the Yeezus Tour a few years back. I was initially disappointed that I couldn't manage to get tickets for the night Tribe was opening, but I totally forgot about that as soon as Kendrick started. Just an all around great performance, and tons of fun to watch. Finally was the

They're just trying to get those sweet, sweet, Metacritic page clicks. IIRC Todd Van Der Werf said as much back when the "TV Review" section started cropping up in addition to episodic reviews. Metacritic wouldn't include something like, say the first review of the season into its score aggregate the way it would with

I like to think that this song was decided to be included on the album proper after it was written this week in preparation for this skit, because that seems to make sense in my mind.

I hope the rest of the album was better than this "30 Hours" song… I love Kanye's music (only album I'm not too hot on is Graduation), but the track above is nothing great. The beat's pretty boring, and Kanye's flow (which, often is endearingly wonky) just sounds super off — and not even to say much of anything worth

I mean, I know the show's live, but correct me if I'm wrong (I've never seen any of the iterations of this program), is it not possible that they, yaknow, screen these episodes a few hours in advance for the host/guest of the show, so they can be more articulate when discussing the episode? I mean, to me, that would

Everybody of a certain age shits on the so-called cassette revival, and seem to completely miss *why* it came back, and how it's useful. The simple answer is that it's a hugely useful medium for the DIY scene. For a while there, small-time bands were fucked. Nobody wanted to get CDs pressed, because it was expensive

Haven't gotten a chance to listen to this yet, but just had to pop in here and express how absolutely devastating the loss of Bowie is. Just… Damn. Might not be getting any sleep tonight. RIP.

Funnily enough, Bojack creator Raphael Bob-Waksberg tried to convince the Netflix people to let him write an episode for "Fuller House"… Given the pitch he gave, it's not surprising at all, but goddamn what I'd pay to see it actually come to fruition:

I 100% agree. I feel the same way about Speed Racer too, but for entirely different reasons. Also Sense8 managed to be great too… This is not great, but not nearly as bad as people made them out to be. And The Matrix sequels… Well… Not everything needs an apologist I guess.

Just chiming in to say that Jim Jennewein (the writer mentioned above) is a pretty great guy. He actually started teaching at my university the year before I graduated, and was a great help to me and my writing partner when we were working on our thesis (which happened to be a feature-length film). He was always warm

Yeah! I'm excited for all their upcoming projects (Eric does some great video work too), but I also feel like there's a certain spark when they're working on stuff together.
Also (since I know only one other person who's watched it), how insane was that Decker/On Cinema finale?! Like, I never knew I could be so

Tim has been making On Cinema at the Cinema for [as] online for a while and it (and its sister series Decker) are pretty phenomenal, and deceptively engaging storytelling.

I don't know why, but the past few times I've gone to weekday evening showings at the AMC Empire 25, I've only been charged about $8.50, which has been hugely helpful… Especially since that's maybe the most sneak-into-able theater I know of locally…

Hey! I was there too, chilling back in row N! It truly was an insane experience. Any other AV Clubbers go to this?

I've played shows with three of these bands within the past week alone…

Sadly, I'm fairly certain this film isn't even eligible for nomination, despite it's excellent cinematography, if this document is to be believed…

So what are the odds that with August on board it becomes a B&W stop motion anthology film directed by Tim Burton? And is that a thing people would want? Cause I know where I fall on that one…

It got a ton of good reviews for like a couple weeks, but it had nowhere near the buildup this has had. But yeah, the Peace Sword EP is pretty damn good. With a little editing (trimming fat, maybe an additional song or so), it could have been a really good LP, and a great companion album to The Terror (as it is it's

I knew about the production stuff, but I thought I've read somewhere (maybe in corrections to the DeRogatis book) that the reports of Ivins not playing in the studio have been exaggerated a bit (especially with their 90s records). It always just seems irksome to me that even though he's one of two founding members, no
