Good point, @avclub-a9365bd906e11324065c35be476beb0c:disqus . Now, if only Bach had written All Along The Watchtower, we'd be getting somewhere…

Now in 7th place, with 14 medals listed, and we're up to 16 as of right now, so yeah - I'd say we're doing okay.

I kept thinking I was going to jinx it somehow. Straight sets? On centre court? Against Federer? What is going on?

I didn't believe you this morning. But now… *sits on edge of chair, bites fingernails*

Men wearing kilts is clearly an awesome thing. It always swelled my little feels-Scottish-even-though-it-was-born-in-Brighton heart when I was living in England and spotted an odd man in a kilt at a wedding.

Ah, four athletics guys. Okay, must have just missed them being in the news for it at some point. Maybe we brush it under the carpet instead? In which case, that's not a good thing.

Yeah, that interview was painful. Though I have to say I've kind of loved the BBC interviewers' approach to athletes apologising for not being good enough - they've all promptly rushed to boost their confidence and say 'no no, you're great, we're all still proud of you.' Hee. The women's relay swimming team who came

Frigging penalties. But I'm not sure we were really expecting great things of 'Team GB' anyway after all the nonsense about inclusion of Scottish/NI players… I don't know. They should still probably have been better than that. In a way, though, I'm glad it's gone and we can focus on all the sports that aren't football

And we won three times as many medals as the next country on the table (the US, obviously), which tells you something about the number of athletes involved…

This article makes me realise that perhaps I'm glad the UK aren't traditionally heavily involved in track and field. Doping scandals? Disqualifications? I'm sure there have been some in our Olympic history, but I honestly can't bring any to mind right now…
