Yeah, I may actually have to go watch his movie now. I liked his understated version of superhero-dom here.

I had that 'one line' spoiled for me ahead of time because people thought it was so awesome they couldn't stop using it on twitter. (Also UK, but didn't see it until yesterday because I am cheap and Tuesdays are cheap at my local cinema so we suit perfectly.)
…the shot that takes quite a while, yes? I knew it was coming and I was still quite impressed. About 10 seconds in I went 'ooh, it's that shot!'
Thirded.
I have to say that in the climactic battle here I wasn't thinking 'ooh, good CGI.' But then that's because I was thinking 'ooh, cool monsters.' So I guess it's good enough if you don't really notice it to be impressed by it…?
I'm a woman. I've seen it (UK). I… will not comment further.
I used to live near a village called Weedon. It amused me probably more than it should have.
I keep getting those two confused. Maybe I should actually try watching both of them and then I probably wouldn't have a problem telling them apart any more.
Like a great black pit… indeed.
I have to stand up for the Spin The Bottle one with him and an under-the-weather Alexis, though, simply because "you're harshing my melon" is now one of my favourite silly things to say.
It does happen to the male characters too, but I accept your point that it happens a little disproportionately to the female ones. But then, I suppose removal of agency happens a little disproportionately to women in the real world too?
My friend and I have a completely imaginary show all planned out (like, 3 seasons' worth of story) in which we cast her as the lead. Because she's just amazing and you know she'd kill as a lead.
Heh, yeah. It's weird in a way that I actually consider After The Fall canon, sort of, in my head. I never do that with follow-on things (I gave up on Buffy s8 quite early and the stuff that happened didn't really happen, in my head). But it's so clear reading ATF that there was a sixth season planned out, and that a…
Incidentally,
This makes me simultaneously happy and sad, because I love Firefly but gosh it's going to be over so quickly compared to Buffy and Angel. Sniff.
Hmm. Interesting thought, and unfortunately makes the whole 'see what kind of person you are' experiment much harder to carry out, since whether you're hopeful or fearful reverses the choice you'd make. I can definitely see the argument that someone who believes humanity is improving and has faith in science could…
I think the whole point of this argument is to see which side everyone takes. Those who value intellectual advancement and science, and who believe that human evolution is generally for the 'better,' will pick astronauts. Those who believe that strength is power, that raw emotion beats considered thought, and who…
It's funny: I don't cry for Fred herself exactly, but boy do I cry for those who have lost her. Those final shots of Angel in his office, Spike on the stairs, everybody just attempting to process their loss - those just kill me, every time.
Ooh, really? I fell hard for his character around the events of Loyalty/Sleep Tight and after that it was just a beautiful party of pain all the way to the end. He's one of my favourite fictional characters in anything, ever, horrible flaws and subtle strengths and all.
Works for me too - I think there are some parts of W&H that concentrate on specific evil targets, but a lot of it seems to be set up to just increase evil entropy until bad stuff happens of its own accord. I think the Senior Partners would take far more joy out of Gunn and Knox bringing hell to Angel's world than if…
