I saw this on Chanel Z oh so many years ago - being the first place I could safely oogle breasts besides Benny Hill.

But its true - Kong was her first film, before that she was a part-time model. She was pretty great in Blue Sky though.

@El Asso Wipo - Yes his voice brings down the Heavens in that song like street cats making love.

I don't think this song is derivative of Jimi Hendrix so much as Kiss. Even when it came out I could picture Paul Stanley singing this song (Him and Lenny sound a lot alike).

I remember when CDs first came out in the 80's there were reports that the information would only last 10 years before it began to degrade. I have CDs that I bought nearly 30 years ago and I have never had this happen.

Yes but…. 20 minutes is the perfect amount of time to spend with an "Artist" before moving on to the next one.

I made a lot of mix tapes for long car trips. It was fun to create themes like "only songs with a womans name in the title" or "only George Harrison songs from the Beatles albums" (the Harrison one had All Things Must Pass studio songs on the B side)

When I moved from California to Tennessee 4 years ago I ended up tthrowing away enough mix tapes to fill 3/4's of a 55 gallon trashcan - hundreds of them. But I had not had a car with a cassette player for years and I still had all the vinyl and cds they were made from.

Speaking of Todd, I just heard Wizard, a True Star for the first time last night - what a great record!

Horrible place…. and I've only ever stopped for gas.

Zappa namechecks alot of Southern California - Orange County Lumber Truck, Village of the Sun, Cucamonga, Camarillo Brillo, Valley Girl… (there's most likely more) but nothing catches the spirit like San Ber'dino.

Would you say that about Tom Petty?….

Make Whoopee?

I worked in a place that painted the walls in a shade called "Tattletale Grey" - it looked like we were in prison which was what I think the managers were going for.

Its an ongoing explanation that will be concluded in his next article.

Tell that to NASCAR…

"No time for the old in-out, just here to read the meter!"

@avclub-c156902f5b20b572848be18c11634dfb:disqus  - Every news station had a brief story about how the predictions in 1984 didn't come to pass and then went straight to a story about how Oceana was our friend and Eastasia had always been our enemy. Or is it the other way around?

Did your Dreams Less Sweet have the bonus long play 45? - That was my favorite part of that album but slowed down to 33rpms.

The best part is that I could see my favorite bands at small clubs (Meat Puppets, Hoodoo Gurus, fIREHOSE, Camper Van Beethoven, Eugene Chadbourn, Giant Sand, etc) for cheap and often.
