I didn't think so at all. She was clearly inappropriately emotionally involved with Emily (following her into the bathroom, picking up her pills and commenting on them, which, admittedly, was a deliberate show planned by Emily) and I thought there might be a sexual subtext there too. She was incredibly self-involved

I think the one legitimate nod to this possibility, which I found pretty great, is when she says "No, I worked with Julia at the bar."

It's gin for me. It tastes like throwing up to me. I can't drink it at all, no matter what it is in. (This is, I think, because of paired association from drinking too much awful gin, then throwing up, during my freshman and sophomore years of college.)

I love how you can see the whole thing right away. (I think that was commented on the first time The Host showed up on The AV Club - how it's a bold move to show the entire monster right away.)

I think you're far from being the only one. I think that probably everyone got really sad because of that.

Hey, I wanted to tell you, this weekend my boyfriend's sister called him while he and I were having sex, and he answered the phone and had a conversation with her while he was inside me. I thought of you immediately.

Thanks!! :)

Also, is it normal not to be able to log into Disqus with your AV Club credentials? I tried with my email address, with "Ellie," and with the random string of junk starting with "avclub-" that you get in your user Disqus profile. Ugh. Not that I WANT to log into the Disqus dashboard but I worry it may prove somehow

I was worried it would decide to post under some other Disqus account. I've never merged anything (and I think my AV Club account is still under my school email, which doesn't even exist anymore, just forwards) but I logged into Disqus once and it said 'We've detected other accounts that might be yours' and I freaked

This is a test to see what happens when I try to comment.

I stopped posting as frequently because I have a lot of work at my job, so here are some recent events!

I read Expecting Better by Emily Oster. It is the greatest book ever! It's about economics. (And pregnancy, so that is interesting, but also it's a great economics book.) I love Emily Oster.

Libertarian bumper stickers, car parked at the public library.

If I wanted to learn to shoot a gun, but know literally nobody who is a gun enthusiast, any advice? It's something I've long thought would be interesting to do but I live in MA and basically everyone I know is anti gun (or at least, seems so in public) so I don't know anyone to ask for advice.

I use Maybelline high impact. I've used high end and I think Maybelline is perfect. It's like $10 so it's not the cheapest ever, but lasts a long time. One thing is you have to get the non-waterproof or it's too hard to wash off.

I love street vendor jewelry. Basically all my jewelry is from those or from those Tibet stores that all sell the same kind of generic imported things. Except I think have good taste, as it sounds you do, so it ends up looking good and not cheap.

I haven't been dating him long enough to say it's a "how we met" story but mine is also the first date I ever went on from OK Cupid! Everyone is impressed when I tell them that, I think the typical person goes on like a million unsuccessful dates.

I met someone awesome in Casual Encounters. We didn't end up dating but
it would definitely have been possible.

I am typically covered in newsprint after working out because I often read the newspaper while stationary biking. I will have black smudges on my face, hands, anywhere I touch, etc. Also, my mascara runs (not because I deliberately wear makeup to go to the gym, but because I'm too lazy to remove makeup before going to

It's not at random. It gives you only the reply when the comment is on a later page. It jumps you right to the comment only when it is on the first page of comments. For some reason, it's not able to jump-to a post on later pages. Back in the very old days you used to be able to jump-to no matter what page it was on.
