I am the only person I've met so far who is really into the whole Miley Cyrus/"offensive" performance/twerking/fucked up music video thing. I think it's great. She is doing the whole Marilyn Manson/Alice Cooper extreme performative video thing. Her We Can't Stop video is exactly like the earlier Marilyn Manson

@avclub-c305906bce98a870409f20115c7cd4e7:disqus You are the first person so far this year to link me to the Cheburashka birthday video! Thank you!

Yeah, I was going to suggest eating peanut butter. I generally really dislike eating and feeling full so I think peanut butter is a pretty good option. You do feel full afterwards but less so than if you ate the same amount of calories of something more nutritionally diverse. Toasted English muffins with peanut butter

I'm sorry about all those issues. The job thing is fucking miserable. I don't have nearly as much pressure/responsibility on me as it sounds like you do but I can definitely relate to feeling "on" all the time in terms of thinking about work 24/7 and how mentally and psychologically exhausting it is.

Miraculous is definitely the right word. I wish I had switched so long ago!

Yes, I forgot to mention that that is another great perk. I always used to get deodorant marks on black shirts. Never again!

Did I somehow miss that you guys got for real married? Congratulations!!! (And about the apartment, too.)

Happy mutual birthday to you too!

Yes, I used Leechblock which had an extreme beneficial effect. I highly recommend it!

I used Leechblock and turned on the setting that makes it basically impossible to change it from 9am-5pm. Also I'm crazy busy at work and too miserable to turn on my computer after I get home tonight. But Leechblock helped more than the latter factor.

I have become interested in cooking again! It happened out of nowhere. I used to be really into cooking and read the magazines and cookbooks and stuff. Then when I moved back to Boston I had absolutely zero interest in it and have been content to eat peanut butter crackers and oatmeal constantly. But it kind of began

I have never in my entire life heard that the woman comes first is a basic rule!

I know I've talked about deodorant on here before. I really love Tom's of Maine "all natural" deodorant. I have the calendula scent which I like best, I've also tried lemongrass and unscented. I used to think I was a person who sweats excessively but it turns out it was just a reaction to coating my skin in a

I think maxi dresses are disgusting and look good on absolutely nobody.

The "magic question" that she advocates (that seems to get great results) is "What would set someone who were truly outstanding in this position apart from someone who were simply good at it?" Or something like that. I really like it as a question because to my mind it indicates genuine interest.

Life updates thread? I am glad to be spending less time online. I quit reading pretty much all the sites I read, not just this one, for more than about five minutes a day, except made an exception for today. Work has been pretty awful but it might be getting a little better soon, albeit, perhaps, only in the sense of

Read askamanager.org. It is the best blog I have ever read, and a near bottomless well of excellent advice.

I would also add that if you're going at it for a really long time, then you are probably spending at least some of that trying not to come (assuming you're doing it right), and there's only so much of that that most people can manage before it flips the other way and it's probably not going to happen at all.

I just read the article myself and I found it pretty ridiculous. There's no getting away from the point that it is unfortunate that presumably there hasn't ever been enough interest in a story about prison that depicts a more typical experience (I actually just checked, however: the majority of female inmates actually
