@avclub-b22930c0777087585b57e2bd8b4cb612:disqus How? Nobody would really have to know. To my mind it would be infinitely easier to hide her being crazy sick for a short period of time than to deal with all the ramifications of the pregnancy; they wouldn't have to tell anyone whatsoever. Sure it doesn't do anything for

@avclub-51bd987933e42dce992d450b858b277a:disqus Yup, that is what happens in that book.

Cal is the greatest, I love his fiancee too. (Neri, right?) And yeah, when Larry's parents were introduced I thought they were too slapstick but then I came around to loving them.

A lot of people from Ukraine are actually Russian, especially those who left Ukraine and are now living somewhere else. His wife is probably ethnically Russian and therefore they were speaking Russian. More to the point, the languages are mutually intelligible.

There are a couple characters where I really like knowing just the amount that gets revealed in the course of the show, and I think Morello is one of those for me. Also I'm guessing it's just going to be really sad, like her fiance is actually a huge jerk and maybe she just convinced herself that he even proposed in

I thought it was a) nice and b) realistic, but I was really frustrated that Piper didn't immediately apologize, say how mortified she was, admit that she really was scared of Claudette when they first became roommates, and say that she regretted sharing her first, fear-tainted impressions with Larry. Instead she just

Oh, I don't admire Bennett, I don't think that he has behaved very well, definitely hasn't taken responsibility for his actions and the way he acts toward Daya after this all shakes out is disappointing. They've both been spectacularly dumb about it, but neither of them is really the cream of the crop to begin with.

Like everyone else, I've typically seen "Pennsyltucky" but indeed "Pennsatucky" is the spelling officially used by the show, in closed captioning and credits. I saw someone suggest elsewhere in AVC comments that this spelling is supposed to include Arkansas in the portmanteau but I'm a bit skeptical. My guess is that

One of my favorite things in these episodes was how the Daya/Pornstache thing throws the Bennett/Daya relationship into question, symbolically in addition to actually. It's like a shadow play of it. Because objectively, there's almost no difference between the two pairings; Bennett scarcely knows Daya - they've

Me too. She's the Bob Benson of Orange Is The New Black!

That's a great point - that Piper never calls her that, but maybe a little bit of that is just trying to be PC, because she has clearly relayed it to Larry. (Don't get me wrong - I can't think of anyone who wouldn't relay that to Larry, given the way Crazy Eyes/Suzanne acted toward Piper at the beginning - but it's

What the fuck! It was not! That's a great book!

I had the same experience with Tess of the D'Urbervilles. Make of that what you will.

They do tend to prefer their cousin to an unrelated female.

How have I never read this book before?

He dated Lindsay Lohan, but not sure which way that goes on your meter.

Or Polly, but I'd rather have her than him.

Or, it could follow the paradigm of Piper Kerman's NYT op-ed yesterday.

Yes they do! I do! I'm not as blind as she is, but even though they are very helpful for looking at things when I have my eyes fixed in one spot, particularly a far away spot, they are not helpful for looking at things at varying distances e.g. when moving around or interacting with multiple people at once.

The acting/writing is good enough that I can barely begin to find her pretty, given how terrible she is. I'd go for Watson, probably. It's hard for me to tell how compelling Natasha Lyonne is on looks alone because her presence is so magnetic.
