Oh yeah. Lust, Caution is fantastic and a great example of the intersection between sex and violence. That was when I realized what the difference between R and NC-17 was (different positions). I cannot believe that the actress who plays the main character has never been in another "big" (or international) film as I

"I only like good movies!"

I would argue it's not really about sex, just violence. I think that for the purposes of this question, there has to be some erotic (or actually sexual) element to the film, not just violence related to sex.

Is Mulholland Drive really violent though? It seems more psychologically disturbing (or, "macabre") than anything else.

I agree with @avclub-6997a8bd0e1042b70b60c5c879a1780e:disqus. I don't think it's that the S&M fulfills her desire for physical violence against herself, at all. It is pretty much a fairy-tale love story in that she only becomes happy and fulfilled when she finds true love. So it kind of glosses over the potential

The first thing that comes to my mind is A History of Violence. It has one of the hottest sex scenes ever (I like the first scene better than the famous stairs scene) and, well, it's right there in the title.

The girl who played "young Margot" in The Royal Tenenbaums apparently once showed up in the IMDb comments on her page, but then the posts were deleted. She's a ballerina and maybe like one other movie so she was more believably a "real person who might be on the internet" to me, but who knows.

Caveat that I have little to no understanding of what constitutes "feminist literature" - I gather (from elsewhere and from your post) that it has to refer to a social movement associated with a specific era - when I hear it I just think of "feminist literature" as literature with themes that reflect values about

I thought, and just confirmed here (http://www.guardian.co.uk/f…, that McCarthy conceived of it w/o that character trait but then thought of Peter Dinklage for it and wrote the part for him. I think it maybe could work with a regular-height actor, but it would be a different movie and not as interesting. I don't think

Holy shit. That's revenge worthy!

I learned about sex from reading "Promiscuities" by Naomi Wolf.
