I thought the Larry Summers scene was hack-y and out of place in the rest of the movie.

I know, I'm from Boston! So cool.

I thought it was kind of intentional in its melodrama.

I think it's funny that you say that Trainspotting captures "the hell" of being around heroin users because I think most people regard Trainspotting as a thrilling, high-energy albeit occasionally disgusting romp that glamorizes drug use. That is, it made me totally want to do heroin.

I really liked HP7 for sentimental reasons too, good way to put it.

I think the second movie is the best. It's way more badass and exciting. It's a great action/thriller with an intellectual bent which is what it's supposed to be. The third movie is only okay - it really lags in the first half, there are way too many characters and it doesn't have an ending. The first movie has way

I was actually surprised by all the seemingly universal critical acclaim. I would have thought that it would be mocked because it's "trendy" and has a trendily asocial and "weird" main character, plus is a true story, etc. I guess what I'm saying is that I think the critical acclaim would be pre-biased against it, not

The scene I can't forget about is the car chase in The Town. I literally can't shut up about it whenever I am behind the wheel of a car.

I saw two. I thought The Social Network was better than Winter's Bone though. I saw the former like three times in two weeks and the latter I was content with only seeing once.

I couldn't get into Everything is Illuminated. I don't know why, I know it's a good book.
I don't think Oskar is a pretentious narrator. The book calls much more attention to the things he DOESN'T know than to those that he does. It's a superficial reading to think the opposite.

It bothers me because I'm pretty sure that in the flashbacks young Grandpa and young Grandma are still young. Like in their 20's. I think that Oskar's parents are slightly older for parents of a nine year old, so Sandra Bullock is I guess appropriately aged. I don't know.

I still don't get
who Tom Hanks is supposed to play. UGH

That was awesome.

Me too! It's sort of like the Alyson Hannigan & Alexis Denisof thing, except coworkers not married.

I think Anne Hathaway is unspeakably gorgeous.

I think that the emotional weight of the character and plot arcs more than made up for the occasionally annoying dialogue.

I'll go on the record as a huge Buffy fan and will defend the show with its complex storylines and character development till the cows come home. However I have to say that I saw a couple episodes recently and after watching Breaking Bad and Mad Men — I finished re-watching the entire run of Buffy on DVD a little

Donna,
My neighbor worked on Ruff Ruffman! Glad to know it was such a good show. I wonder what he's working on now.

Nathan WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO DO "I'M WITH THE BAND"?

What I don't quite understand (I'm not familiar with South Park so I'm not very clear on what the humorous context based on the South Park character performing the song is) is why Brownmark is saying that their video's humor is based on "innocent" imagery contrasted with a sexually charged song. I don't the video is
