Apparently I am in the minority in not loving this one! I think it suffered from a lack of external obstacles. The show is always at its best when Nathan is forced to adapt to some unforeseen circumstance and the lack of conflict brought this one down for me—though the "I love you" scene was brilliant.

Every time he kissed the dog I felt my heart shatter into a million pieces.

My very white and Asian high school did a production of The Wiz that consisted 100% of white kids. Nobody in the theater department seemed to see a problem with that…

I was very afraid that I wasn't going to like Hamilton because everybody I know is obsessed with it so my expectations were sky high, but I ended up loving it, of course, because it's fantastic. "Satisfied" has my heart right now, but I've also been listening to "The Room Where It Happens" because it's a show stopper

Ah, Hostages. Every fall TV season needs a flop that entertaining.

I also think that they probably don't get great returns on reviews for streaming shows because of the lack of timeliness for each episode. Some shows are enough of a zeitgeist to merit it but I know they've found issues with the format for OITNB/House of Cards reviews.

What sort of dark spell has Kurt Sutter put on the execs at FX that allows him to keep on doing…this?

I forgot about Alex! Sometimes Jeopardy is too much for me because I get emotionally attached to the contestants and I'll never get to see them again…I still miss you, Dan McShane.

Paradise Hotel is sleazy but also kind of amazing if you can get on its wavelength. Dave was so fucking horrible and hated by everybody else on the program but he was truly one of the most scheming people to ever be on any reality TV show…and the fact that he played the game so perfectly only to get screwed out of the

I had an acquaintance send me a link to the Breaking Bad article yesterday because he was so dismayed that they would continue with the show. It sure is too bad that everything you read on the internet is one hundred percent fact no matter what!

@TheAVClub Lemme guess…the comment thread on this post is super kind and supportive, right guys???

Not the fictional character, Gary Oldman himself. I was ten-ish and already prone to pop culture obsession.

When Oldman played Sirius Black in the Harry Potter movies, my mom told me I wasn't allowed to get emotionally attached to him because Gary Oldman is a right wing blowhard. And then I grew up, and I realized that she was right. Thanks, Mom!

I never read these books as a kid, but my older brother did, and I was very, very afraid of the illustrations on the covers. Looking at the cover of "Say Cheese and Die" brings back a very vivid memory of seeing it as a four-year-old and bursting into tears.

Okay, so I have the in person tryout for the college championships in a couple of weeks. What do you all think I need to start memorizing ASAP? I'm working on capitals and I have the presidents down on lock but I'm not sure where else to go.

As stupid and pretentious as this sounds, the White family. Though my dad isn't a meth dealer, he did keep all sorts of fucked up and illegal secrets from my family for several years that ended up basically destroying everything, including his career (though, sadly, he didn't go out in a haze of bullets). The cadences

Yeah, I got the exact same response.

Short Term 12 was so freaking good. I spent a lot of time as a kid visiting my oldest sister in a facility like that and it was amazing how that movie got all of the details down perfectly.

I'm turned off by guys who are shorter than me, but I can deal with someone the same height as me. I'm pretty tall for a woman (5'11") so it's a little harder for me to get away with, but I hate towering over guys with a passion. Also: men with super short haircuts, like buzzcuts or really severe crew cuts. I hate

R.I.P. my cancellation league hopes and prayers.
