Thanks for reminding me. But this doesn't change the fact that at the very least, the audience knows that Peter is a corrupt politician - which further supports David's argument that it's hard for the audience to root for Peter (the supposed protagonist) over Maddie (the supposed antagonist).

I remember that Childs had some illegal dealings of his own, but wasn't there also a contractor who was ready to testify against Peter (albeit at Childs' behest)? That's a good point indeed. I was also wondering: Why was it necessary for Alicia to use the "admission against interest" exception in order to have Sergeant Compton's testimony allowed in court? How is it hearsay if the Sergeant directly overheard the alleged rape/assault taking place?
