For some reason, this really made it hard for me to get into the episode. I'm totally willing to believe things like Jane managed to keep her real birthday hidden for 30 years but I just kept thinking: "It's CHRISTMAS! There shouldn't be that many people on the street!!"

It's my favorite Christmas tradition. The whole thing is very melancholy, even Linus's speech at the very end. All the music is in a minor key and the animation sticks to a beautiful muted palette, with the exception of the Christmas tree yard, where the bright colors are garish and grotesque.
