I'm not a big fan on Daft Punk (or that genre in general), but in my opinion Alive 2007 is so good exactly because of what you've identified; treating the individual hooks as the base units rather than songs themselves.  Often what happens, imo, is a song is built around one theme (like "One More Time" or "Da Funk",

Hell, I went back and watched those bonus study room minisodes, and even for something as insignificant as that it was great to see.  Every character was themselves.  No pandering.  No silly shipping.  Just classic study-group stuff.  Like walking into a hug.

I really dislike driving.  I plan to never own a car, and when I become galactic emperor I will ban every one that emits fossil fuels.

I love Mickey too.  His little arc in season 2 is the best part of that season.

It's his classic style of "being clever is better than being good."

What's more distracting: Portia de Rossi's or Anna Gunn's facial transformation over the course of their respective shows?

I've caught bits and pieces channel-surfing, but have never done a proper watch of it.  From what I've heard and seen it looks competent, though.

I'm glad the season improved from here, because there were moments, especially in the first episode, that were pretty dire.  The callbacks felt very forced, and even on rewatch I don't think the plot unfolds effectively, and not even close to organically.

You mean read above, you latte-drinking newest first commie!

Then why does it pop up in scenes that aren't supposed to be?

Because it doesn't make sense in the context of the scenes?

One of the innovations of The Office was letting beats and shots linger a few seconds longer than normal, altering the comedic dynamic of the show and turning scenes that might otherwise have been innocuous into something much more cringeworthy.

It's the way to get them chewy all the way through, without foregoing the actual cooking them part.

I'm glad that the consensus is that the season of Arrested Development gets better as it goes on, because the first episode was pretty dire.

Yeah, I laugh more at Party Down too, although I think less people would consider it "objectively" funny. I agree exactly with your take.  The characters in Arrested Development are really more like extraordinarily fine-tuned joke machines than actual people.  Not that that is a necessarily bad thing, but it prevents
