Honestly, Einstein and Jefferson did a lot of writing and speaking about religion, and if you read them both in total, they have some of the most enlightened views about religion of any historic individuals, which makes it no surprise that everyone wants to claim them for their religion.

She's also a former stripper. Google image it.

Shaggydog - Psychiatrists have an MD; they are medical doctors. Psychologists have a PhD, they are not.

He IS that guy! You're friend's a movie star!

I dunno about mozart, but I'm pretty sure einstein and jefferson both had very lively and appropriate social lives, with absolutely no symptoms indicative of Aspberger's.

@perfect - i think it has a lot to do with the screamed lines, a la gladiator, but much cheesier.

Here is the full comment that Schiller is referring to from Savage Love:

I think spielberg's wife has stated it in interviews (google it).

Dude, I actually spent a year as the grad rep for the committee on prescription privileges for psychologists. It's going to be a LONG battle. The AMA and American Psychiatric Association are willing to throw tens of millions of dollars to fight it, and the American Psychological Assn doesn't have that kind of money.

Co-morbid, that's a very sad view of things. I certainly have a personal emotional stake in many of my patients, and I only see acute inpatients. My friends who have long-term therapy relationships…they are DEVASTATED when a patient commits suicide. I've even seen symptoms of PTSD.

Most aspberger's pts have no problem with physical contact. Many autistics do, though…but certainly not all of them. It's not so much contact with others, but the sensory experience of being touched, as many autistics are super sensitive to sound, light, and tactile stimuli.

Rose Byrne was also in Troy, a terrible movie that I can't help but love.

Swordsman - psychologists can only prescribe in LA, NM, and through the Dept of Defense, though there are initiatives to spread prescription privileges into MT, OR, and MO this year. Psychiatrists can prescribe, and they and the AMA are fighting tooth and nail to keep psychologists from getting prescription privileges.

You could try temple grandin's books - she's a high-functioning autistic, and she invented a machine to hug her, because she wanted the feeling, but didn't like people touching her.

DCRJ, the solution is so easy, especially considering what we know about you.

There was just an episode of Food Detectives on food network about "is blue food really blue?"

Asperger's patients are almost always more high functioning than autistics, considering that about 50% of autistics have some form of mental retardation.

I think Portman has epilepsy, which explains it even better.

There are just as many socially-adjusted aspies as there are super-weird ones, just like there are just as many douchebags as there are normal people.

Sybil, don't take psychometrics, then. You'll have to learn the Woodcock-Johnson Tests of Achievement.
