Here's the thing about the idea that LOST has been character-driven: how often have the characters been acting and not just reacting? The whole "free will vs. faith" issue. For a majority of the time, these characters did things someone else guided them to do, someone typically connected to the mythology. So to

I've heard the ending compared to "Titanic," a formerly overrated film about inevitable death.

I'm sorry, but that show might have the single greatest tagline I have ever come across in my life. It completely reduces the show to the degrading fat joke it is destined to be, while also announcing to the world that the show has absolutely no shame about puns.

The Mila Kunis
My friend and I have an on-going list of terrible things titled "The Mila Kunis," because she is a bright, shining example of an unbridled disaster. She's just fucking awful.

Misanthropy
It's actually amazing how many people not only don't like a good misanthrope, but deeply, truly loathe it. I work at a movie theater showing "Greenberg," a theater that caters heavily to wealthy old folks, and sweet Jesus do they hate that film. I mean screaming, holy-burning-fuck hatred. They all come in

It might be over for "Chuck," but I wouldn't worry about it. He's doing fine on that other NBC show where he sells paper supplies and married the secretary.

Derrick Borte
I work at a theater showing this movie beginning tomorrow, and Derrick Borte showed up yesterday. Apparently, this being his first major motion picture, he's taken it upon himself to travel the country, investigating the publicity and whatnot.

Oh, wow
I completely misread "Jackie Kennedy" as "Jamie Kennedy," and was so incredibly excited to see that movie.

Glee publicity
Fuck all this bullshit about how fucking accurately "Glee" reflects being on the outside of the popular circle in high school. Apart from being massively reductive, it's flat-out wrong. Rachel's unpopular for a key reason: she's an irascible psycho.

Musicals
Todd, thanks for touching on many people's apprehensions toward musicals in general ("I just don't believe anyone would start singing! And why does everyone know the dance?")

Man…
I wish I had stupid piles of money.

CBS
I've shied away from the programs on CBS, mostly because procedurals simply aren't my taste. I see the appeal, but it's not my appeal, is all.

It's not your fault. It's not your fault. It's not your fault.

I stand by the claim
That "Shrek Forever After" is less of a title and more of a threat.

I think it's pronounced "Panty raid."

Saving Private Smiley Face

Or could that whole statement be less of a safety net and more the subdued fears of a fan that maybe, just maybe, the show is falling down some stairs and might not be able to get up.

I can no longer listen to "Caring Is Creepy"
because while tripping on shrooms in Amsterdam, I tried to use The Shins to put me to sleep. What resulted was me seeing the band playing the song in a vacuum, perched upon the horizontal flame of a lighter on its side. I can never get that image out of my head.

On a list of celebrities I'd want doling out domestic advice, I'd rank Alec Baldwin somewhere around Woody Allen and Robert Blake.

VMAs
So by eradicating all traces of music, MTV is free to further embrace the Video Music Awards. Is their next step to drown New Jersey?
