Lane's date is channeling Wart from Wonder Years so hard. Their shared "whatever" is uncanny.

I initially confused Sophie B. Hawkins with Joan Osborne until they named Damn I Wish I Was Your Lover.  I wouldn't be particularly excited about a dance with either as a namesake.

Does Emily actually push for Luke and Lorelai to get together after this?  Someone better versed in Gilmore Girls could confirm it, but I don't think so.

Has anyone else actually eaten banana on toast?  I haven't because every time I think about how weird it is, I either don't have bananas or bread.  Based on eating peanut butter and banana sandwiches, it seems like just banana on toast would be at most inoffensive, certainly not "disgusting."

How Kelly Bishop didn't get an Emmy is beyond me.  These two episodes highlight how amazing she is in this role.

My favorite Taylor comeuppance is during the Doose family reunion.  Taylor's brother makes fun of him for caring so much about Stars Hollow history and how inconsequential it is.

This is just the best comment.

I've wondered if I'm reading too much into Dean's speech.  At the very least, I don't think it was written to be taken that way.  But he's got so much attitude for someone who got the most chill "the talk" ever.

I'm sure it will be commented on frequently here.

In his only other appearance up to this point he was called Mick.  So, it's understandable.

Morie:  "Stay cool, kid."
Dean:  "I will."

Heil Honey, I'm Home.  For anyone unaware, it was a BBC sitcom about Hitler and Eva Braun living in an apartment next to some Jewish people.  It was also cancelled in the middle of it's premier episode

Lorelai makes a point of saying that the whole town loves Rory when she gives Dean the talk.  So, it could be that Luke, being part of the town, watches out for Rory as well.

They already did an episode where Abed was literally a background character.  So, I guess they feel the need to give everyone something to do which is the same thing killing Modern Family.

Boy, that Abed fraternity story didn't go anywhere in an already crowded episode.

Yeah, Luke looking at Lorelai in the snow episode is cements his feelings and gives him more of a purpose.  Before that, he's just the sarcastic person who serves food in any show.  Good for a line then back to the main characters.

Luke's "look" at Lorelai was barely enough for Emily to notice and definitely not enough for her to comment on.  I could see Emily asking who Luke is and the scene playing out as aired with Emily commenting on Lorelai's giant grin.

Claudia would be Lorelai's great aunt, not her cousin.  This seems like something Emily would know.

Oddly enough, I started watching Gilmore Girls with this exact episode (Deerhunters).  ABC Family had a marathon of various episodes in no real order on August 21, 2005 (I know this because I mentioned it on my no embarrassing blog).

Please, let's not refer to Rory as a "bitch."
