I still prefer the version that had Kurt just sitting and singing the third verse in front of the blue star backdrop (with Krist and Dave blurry in the background).

Same age, sure, but Hartnell LOOKED so much older. It's amazing to think he was as young as 55 when he played the Doctor.

It was a very informative time for me as a kid. I was 8 when the Berlin wall came down. The fall of the USSR, the Reunification of Germany, then Yugoslavia… When our teacher started explaining to us how all our maps were out-of-date it was such a simple, weird, direct way for me to actually understand that there was a

I wonder how out-of-date those maps will look. Africa should be pretty interesting.

So Reznor thinks Deep is a better song than the Perfect Drug? Am I the only one who remembers Deep even exists?

It's not nice to hate!

So when is Reznor going to direct a video for Lynch's new album?

I recall an interview with Jean-Pierre Jeunet where he joked about how he didn't actually understand what the movie was about until he saw it dubbed into French.

They pretty much do that every season - especially when they introduce a new companion. Granted, Martha's introduction took place on the moon but it was essentially an earth episode since the setting was an earth hospital.

All of those bits were from his most recent special, Laboring Under Delusions. It's a series of stories detailing all the jobs he's had, including working at a hat store.
The previous special, You Should Have Told Me has some really touching bits, particularly the last portion when he talks about his mother's death. I

A strange way to be introduced to a show, but surprisingly easy since it didn't require knowledge of the show's overarching plots and it had a gimmick plot that was easily understood. It did take a few more

I mean the regular cc which I always have turned on when I watch Hulu, not the in-show subtitling. It's possible they hadn't added the caption track at the time I watched it (I've had that happen in the past with tv shows on hulu getting the captioning a week after the video was posted).

I know that it's difficult to get a true newborn for tv shows, but how old was that baby? Dang! At least they could have told the actor not to hold her up like that to make it even more obvious she was not a newborn.

Thanks for pointing out some of the audio-related moments of the show. There's a ton of drilling happening next to my apartment right now, so after the initial bits of dialogue I simply turned off my hearing aids to drown out the drills and watched the rest of the show in total silence. It was so nice to be able to

I really explained that badly and shouldn't have likened it to developing different accents based on location. I only wanted to show that a person's speech isn't fixed and is easily malleable.

One wouldn't suddenly develop a "deaf accent" but I'm sure that their speech would be affected in some way over time. When people move to a new place for a long time, their accents are affected because that's what they're being exposed to on a regular basis. After three years in Mass. I picked up a couple bits of the

I want him to spend his hosting time building a nice piece of furniture on the stage.

Not entirely related, but your post reminded me of this. One of my favorite Shakespeare performances I've seen was when the Milwaukee Shakespeare Company did a production of "The Tempest" with the role of Ariel played by a deaf actor who signed all of his lines. The other actors were hearing, but those who played

The only time I've seen the Californians, I found it hilarious because I live here, but I can assure you that had I seen it before I moved to LA I would have found it the most grating sketch ever. It really is too specific for a national audience.

According to imdb, she's been doing tv recently. Aw man, she's a week younger than I am but all of her characters seem about 5 years older. Stop making me feel old, Julia Stiles!
