"Please, don't make me redundant" is so much more devastating than "please, don't fire me." Being fired just means you've lost your job (as sucky as that is). Being made redundant kind of has the connotation that you have no worth. Breaks my heart.

Same here. I read it when I was in middle school and I was thinking about it not too long ago but had forgotten the title (and never got around to looking it up). I never realized that the book was as well known as it was.
I saw Dumbledore there a month or so ago.
@Alcing
That scene made me teary as well. Part of it was that it still doesn't save him - it's just a moment of happiness in a life filled with emotional torment.
For me it's the moment just before that when he starts stuttering again…
I never made that connection before, either!
@Don Bluth
Just read the imdb link. Simply awful. Poor thing.
Ditto.
Finally saw it for the first time last week (watched it with my dad). Tears.
I don't cry at Requiem for a Dream because it tears out my insides and leaves a dry, gaping hole in my gut. All I can do if feel depressed and empty.
Eesh! That just sounds horrifying.
Artax! Please!
I cried a bit during that scene, but was flat-out bawling at the end when the actors and their real life counterparts were putting the stones on Schindler's grave. Thank god I was home by myself.
Es tut mir leid. Mein Grammatik ist schlecht.
Should've been "erste" anyway.
Ah, whoops, my mistake!
I loved Pushing Daisies, but it doesn't qualify for the list because even though they originally shot it before they found out they were cancelled, they went back and shot a new ending to replace the original cliffhanger that was planned. This way they could at least wrap up some of the storylines and nudge it towards…
I'd read a book of Neville Longbottom's experiences at Hogwart's for the whole seven years (but condensed to one book).
How about just more Stephen Fry in general? I think if he's cast in anything, the film makers should just write him an extra scene for the hell of it.
I would say that it doesn't spoil it TOO much because watching those two together is so much damn fun.
