That's an interesting perspective. I tend to like when writers stay true to their vision instead of adjusting to fans' whims so I'm glad there's a vacuum. I may not like the result, but at least then it's uncompromised by the fickle (and sometimes misguided) desires of the vocal few.
I so agree with you about Jeff and Britta. And, although I know you're anti-shipper, I also liked the moment when Britta had to admit that she was attracted to Jeff in his aviators.
Okay, well above I said I was just fine with what I'm doing, but to see that this is your back-up dream makes me think I've been aiming way too low…
Yes - and that is exactly why I went with the Dean. I immediately thought it was a callback.
I guess, to provide a really boring reply, is that even if you don't become super famous and successful, the alternative could also turn out to be just fine, too. The opposite of fame/success doesn't have mean disappointment. And really, if you try one route, and find that it's not working, we no longer live in a…
I like that an episode featuring Shangela and a wig made of ivory worn by a racist old man dressed like Colonel Sanders is considered "normal" for Community.
Tonight I noticed that his nipples are placed kind of funny (more to the outer edge of his chest) so I'm over seeing him shirtless now.
I wondered if that was the same guy! That's awesome.
I'll put in a vote for Chang in Pharmacology:
I don't watch the commercials, but the same ones run so many times I think I still managed to memorize them all simply by hearing them over and over again.
Okay, I will admit I also thought the same thing, so I guess even in that situation it pulled me out for a second…
Yes, I think context has a lot to do with how I respond. I was okay with the Dreamatorium sequence, and really anything that happens over the end credits. I guess because it fits in line with my expectations in those cases?
That's funny…as someone who doesn't like this recent set of cutaways, I thought the anime sequence in Foosball was very effective. It was way more organic and added to the story as opposed to pulling you out of it.
Wow, then I must not have been paying attention because I thought it was the Dean.
I think what bugs me about the cutaway is that I feel like they don't trust the audience to see Jeff's expression and realize what's happening without having to explain it.
I think I may have a thing for Jim Rash because the Dean falling and writhing on the floor at the sight of Jeff in aviators was perhaps the funniest part of this episode for me.
I personally prefer Michael K.'s guesses:
Sorry if I missed this and someone already raised this point, but I think more than just the age factor, the maturity level between these two is what makes me more creeped out about a pairing.
I tend to give shows I like leeway if they can execute a poor idea well (Friday Night Lights season two murder plot, for example), so while I won't be thrilled if they decide to keep Klaus around because a relationship with Caroline would be interesting to explore, I'll go with it.
