You're right. Grey's was first with the monologues and continues to feature them. They're as annoying as the ones on Scandal, but there's (currently) no character as over-the-top as Cyrus, Sally or Papa Pope. And no character on Scandal manages to make the monologues sound natural (i.e., not Shonda-speak) the way Owen

The only signs that this is a Ryan Murphy show are certain aspects of John Travolta's performance.
