Fritz is the one in love with Olivia Poop, right?

I love the music and have all my life, but I've always felt that its use on Scandal is a gimmick that rarely enhances the show and has begun to cheapen the music. I get what Shonda's trying to do and while there's something commendable about it, it mostly makes me cringe.

Same question as last week: Who's Millie?

The face of the brother of Josh Hartnett's character on Penny Dreadful, if he had one.

But he's also the only one not in on Sam's murder (it seems).

After any Pfefferman.

Chip Delany signed a hardcover first edition of The Mad Man for me one of the times I heard him read some years back. I loaned it to a friend who passed away not very long after that and I never saw the book again. Which only reminded me why it's a bad idea to loan treasured books.

It's not like he's twisting her arm or anything.

Who doesn't love a summer bob-becue?

Which first question are you referring to that is so silly?

Grade raised for Gloria's "boning."

Toxic Western standards of beauty.

Just wanted to note that it's harder (for me anyway) to comment about episodes I watched weeks ago, but I am enjoying these reviews immensely. Transparent really is the best (new) show of the season thus far.

Truly.

It comes from the Bible, so not American. ;-) But it's more literary than colloquial (these days, anyway). It's usually used to describe authority figures whose behavior belies their image.

Not a native speaker?

I'm still convinced it's Camille, too: Stroke.

Yeah, I got that. It just bugs me sometimes when it's taken for granted, especially since it doesn't apply to me personally.

The actor who currently does Shondaspeak the best is Kevin McKidd over on Grey's. He had a monologue last week that was so well delivered it actually sounded like the thoughts were occurring to him as he spoke them. He also managed to include realistic pauses and changes in tempo and volume. I was shocked.
