Unquestionably my favorite episode, I watch it any time I need to feel hopeful. This is about as happy as we get to see any of the Fishers. I wish I could save them all from the shitstorm of terrible stuff that awaits them in in the next two seasons.

Season 2 Spoilers

I recently watched Carnivale for the first time (just finished season 2 last week) and have been enjoying these reviews. This show so rarely gets the tempo right, it's usually feels like it is just puttering along or rushing ahead. There are very few episodes where the pace of revelations feels natural and fulfilling.

Great analysis of David's motivations here. It is very interesting the way he combines a need for deep meaningful connections with a desire for consequence free escapism. The two don't really mix well and he tends to vacillate between the extremes. It's sad that David never seems to understand this about himself.

Fragments is my favorite episode of the entire series. It's a must watch in my opinion.

SPOILERS DUH Count me on in the group that thinks Season 4 really falls apart after this point. The thing I like about Whedon shows is the character development and most of the great character moments in this season are contained within the first third. The season from this point out is mostly a low budget action

The relationship between Claire and Ruth is probably the most compelling of the intra-Fisher relationships. The role reversal that john points out in this episode continues to develop throughout the series. Compare Claire's strained invitation to watch a movie together in this episode to the more genuine appeal to
