Try Mighty Joe Young.  Got some humor and manages a happy ending.  Directed by John Ford, starring Ben Johnson.  I loved it when I was a kid, and I still loved it when I grew up and watched it on video.  His animals look more real than real animals somehow.

But Valhalla fell…

It's what I was thinking.  How sweet to have one's genius recognized and appreciated while one is still alive to savor that sweetness.

I loved Mighty Joe Young when I was a kid, and I love it still.  So cool.  Directed by John Ford, at that, and it has an Oscar.

Should that be "tics"?

Except some of the medical stories, which I read even though they tend to scare me witless at times.

Yes, Rocket Fuel.

I agree, Juan.

You can find quite a bit of Sedaris reading his stuff on youtube.  For the essays in the New Yorker, you'd need to subscribe to the magazine to get access to the online archive.
You can get the New Yorker for about $25/year, a very good deal for what you get.

I recorded that one for my brother for Christmas.  No word on whether he enjoyed it or not.

Has anyone heard from ZMF?

Hearts of Space.  Two solid hours of elevator music, usually.

Agreed.

No idea since I've never seen the modern version—but I'd guess just in general the modern version might be better.

I believe you mean Andy Parsons?  He's not in my top 5 or maybe 10, but he's okay.  I also like Jimmy Carr.
Dara O'Briain or whatever it is, have you watched any of his videos on youtube?  If you have an hour and a half, check out one of his shows.  Worth the time.

Stop and ask yourself, who would American bosses come up with to do Stephen Fry's job?

It's Thomas Jefferson and John Adams all over again.

Have you heard or read David Sedaris' essay about his visit to the Anne Frank house?  It might be on youtube.

Bish—a little late for that now.
